on August 8th at 2:00 pm.
Join our staff on a relay team to compete or just
sit back and enjoy the show! The best part is we
all get to eat our burgers after the relay! Stay
after this event for Happy Hour!
Let’s all cool down together on Friday, August
29th at 3:00 pm for Happy Hour in the Gathering
Place. We can usher in the Labor Day weekend
with a cool treat and staff will be invited to
attend this fun event too. Ol’ Time Music will
be playing some favorites for your sing along
pleasure. This will be a fun way to help bring in
the Fall season. Hope to see you all there!
Under the Sea Spectacular
Looking for a way to cool off this summer? Well,
it’s right here in our very own backyard. Come
on down to the pool for Happy Hour on Friday,
August 22nd at 3:00 pm. We will feature a
special water show hosted by Val, the mermaid.
Music and refreshments will be served to keep
you cool. Hope you can all make it down to this
fun event!

Hey, hey, it’s your birthday, and you’re the guest

Notes from our Executive Director
When looking at meaningful events in August, I
learned that August is “What Will Be Your Legacy
Month”. As I pondered the word “legacy” I did
a little research. The Oxford dictionary says that
legacy has two common definitions; 1. A gift by
will, especially of money or personal property.
2. Something handed down or received from an
ancestor or predecessor.
As I look back at those close to me who have
passed before me; I realize that the customs
and traditions, relationships and memories have
meant more to me than any inheritance ever
could. My father’s legacy is not one of riches to
be bestowed on his daughters, but one of service,
generosity, and living life to the fullest every day.

I wish so much more for my own children, than
fat bank accounts and property in their name. I
wish to leave a legacy of servitude, generosity,
and a genuine caring for people.
So, in honor of August, take a moment to think
about “What Will Be Your Legacy”.

Gala”. Build your own
special blend and we
will name it after you!
Mark your calendars for
August 1st at 3:00 pm. Steve will be singing his
wonderful tunes for us in the Gathering Place.
Come and get into the groove and get your
creative juices flowing. On Monday, August
11th at 1:00 pm during Kathy’s Craft Corner
you will be making your tie dyed shirts
for this fun event. Then wear them or just
bring them along to Happy Hour on Friday,
August 15th at 3:00pm. Larry will be
entertaining us in the Gathering Place and
it should be a great time!
