TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR AN AWARD, CANDIDATES MUST:

Be an undergraduate UNB student in any faculty from either Fredericton or Saint John campus
Be enrolled in a minimum of 4 courses or 12 credit hours per term in a UNB Degree Program
Be in good academic standing with a minimum gpa of 2.0
Have completed 12 credit hours of courses at UNB or at any other university if you are a transfer student
Both domestic and international students are eligible to apply, but preference will be given to Canadian citizens
and permanent residents of Canada
Courses on the Travel Study Program must all be taken for credit
Be in good financial standing: Prior to the end of winter term, all tuition fees must be paid in full in order to
proceed with a Travel Study Program. Failure to meet this financial obligation will result in the suspension of
eServices and may affect a student’s ability to participate in his/her Travel Study Program
With your application, you must submit:
• The name of one faculty member from whom a reference may be requested
• A letter of no more than 500 words explaining how you would benefit from receiving a Travel Study Award
• A copy of your UNB Transcript
Value and Number of the Travel Study Awards:
• For 2017, twelve awards worth $2000 each will be available for students participating in the Paris Travel Study
Program and twelve for those participating in the Rome Travel Study Program
• Selection of students to receive these awards will be based primarily on students’ academic achievement.

If you are awarded a Travel Study award, you must pay the balance of your fees by February 13, 2017. Failure to do so
will result in forfeiting of the Travel Study Award.

This award will be contingent on the students’ registration for and completion of their Travel Study Program. If, for
any reason, The Travel Student Program cannot be undertaken, the award will be forfeited.
Deadline to submit application is JANUARY 13, 2017. Successful candidates will be notified no later than FEBRUARY 1,
2017.
It is recommended that you apply to your preferred Travel Study Program before you apply for the Travel Study Award.
If you intend to apply for a Travel Study Award, you do not have to pay a deposit of $1000 when you apply to the Travel
Study Program. However, if you receive a Travel Study Award, you will be required to pay the balance of your fee no
later than FEBRUARY 13, 2017.
This award will be contingent on the students’ registration form and completion of their Travel Study Program. If, for
any reason, the Travel Study Program cannot be undertaken, the award will be forfeited.
