There is no age limit for the Music Choral/Education division but you must be enrolled in a Music Education college program

Two contrasting art songs including one in the Spanish language. It does not have to be by a Spanish
composer. This excludes all arias, baroque and classical. An art song is music composed for one voice
and piano. For the Junior and High School divisions a Spanish song is optional.

ONE ORIGINAL SCORE OF EACH SELECTION must be provided for the judge at the audition
time, no illegal photocopies will be accepted.
Application fee of $15 is to accompany this application. Make checks payable to the ‘AMTA
Albuquerque Music Teachers Association’ Vocal Artistry Art Song Festival (VAASF) in the memo
Applications must be postmarked on or before April 1, 2016. Late Applications will not be accepted.

It is the expectation of the Festival Board that all participants take part in as many events as possible in order
to take advantage of the many opportunities available. See the schedule of events on page 3.

Finalists for the Vocal Artistry, Young Artists and High School Divisions will be posted after the Cantigas
d’Amigo A Spanish and Celtic Tapestry of Song concert on Friday. All other finalist will be posted at the
Biscochitos Café on Saturday.
All Finalists must initial the posting sheet and enter one selection they would like to sing for the Sunday
afternoon Awards Concert.

All singers will receive their audition times by email during the second week of April. The High School,
Young Artist and Vocal Artistry auditions will be on Friday Afternoon and evening. The Junior, Music
Education/Choral, Adult Singer and Collaborative Piano divisions will be on Saturday morning. The
Final Award Concert and Reception is on Sunday at 2pm
