To do so would heat objects rather than persons. Notes on use of LAVA®-R There is a 2-level on and off switch on the control module, as well as a “+” and “–” arrow button to set the temperature and a two-digit digital room temperature display. Switch position I: The device is operated at half nominal capacity and achieves a surface temperature of approx. 60 °C to 70 °C. Room temperature display in calibrating mode: In the event of deviation from the actual room temperature, the thermostat can be calibrated upwards or downwards as appropriate. If the temperature is calibrated upwards, the increase is shown in the right figure. If calibrated downwards, it is shown in the left figure. Image description: Actual room temperature display has been increased by 3° K. Actual room temperature display has been reduced by 2° K. Switch position II: The device is operated at full capacity and achieves a surface temperature of approx. 85 °C to 95 °C. Explanation: A flashing dot on the lower right edge of the room temperature display signals that the infrared heater is currently in heating mode. The desired setpoint room temperature is adjusted in 1° steps up or down by pressing an arrow button several times. After approximately 30 seconds, the room temperature display lapses and switches into POWER SAVING MODE. Calibrating the displayed actual room temperature: If the displayed actual room temperature is too high, the room temperature sensor must be checked (on the rear of the infrared heater). Please observe the instructions for installing the control module. Press an arrow button once to re-activate the current room temperature display. Once the check has been carried out, the displayed room temperature can be calibrated upwards or downwards. In the first calibration step, the setpoint temperature must be set to 35 °C using the + arrow button. Then keep the + arrow button pressed down until 00 or the set calibration value appears on the room temperature display (approx. 5 seconds). Then use the + or – arrow button to calibrate the actual temperature display upwards or downwards.
