too much?

Medical experts advise that people should not
regularly drink more than the daily unit guidelines
of 3-4 units of alcohol for men (equivalent to a
pint and a half of 4% beer) and 2-3 units of
alcohol for women (equivalent to a 175 ml glass
of wine).
‘Regularly’ means drinking every day or most
days of the week.
There are many different ways you can cut back on
drinking. You could:
try having some days off alcohol, when you don't drink
at all
whether you're at home or out, make sure you know
how many units you've drunk so you can keep within
the lower risk guidelines
swap your usual for a smaller drink, a soft drink or
glass of water, a later drink or a drink with a meal only
don't feel pressured to keep up with others' drinking
try other ways to relax like pamper yourself with a
bath or walk the dog

What's in your drink?
Wine, beer, cider and spirits are made by
fermenting and distilling natural starch and
sugar. Being high in sugar means alcohol
contains a lot of calories – seven calories
a gram – that's almost as much as pure fat!
Four average pints of lager contain around
40% of the 2,500 calories the average man
needs each day to maintain his weight.
The average women needs around
2,000 calories a day.
