Cutting Instructions:
Background
• 4 ½” x 18” strip
o Cut into four 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" squares
• 5 ¼” x 10 ½” strip
o Cut into two 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" squares
Color1 (red)
• 5 ¼” x 10 ½” strip
o Cut into two 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" squares
Color2 (blue)
• 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" square
Block Construction:
• Cut 5 ¼” Background squares twice diagonally to make quarter-square triangles.
o Makes 8.
• Cut 5 ¼” Color1 squares twice diagonally to make quarter-square triangles.
o Makes 8.
•
Make 4 pieced-square sub units.
Assembly:
• Sew pieced-squares to 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" Background and Color2 squares. Sew rows together as shown:
