What is the Daniel Fast?

“In those days, I, Daniel, had been mourning for three entire weeks. I did not eat any
tasty food, nor did meat or wine enter my mouth, nor did I use any ointment at all until
the entire three weeks were completed.” Daniel 10:2-3
What is the Daniel Fast?
In the Bible, we learn of Daniel’s complete dedication to God. Daniel refused to conform to practices
that would defile his body, and entered a partial fast, eating only vegetables and water. The Daniel
Fast is a plant-based eating plan that only includes sugar-free and chemical-free foods. All of the
foods in the Daniel Fast are natural and unprocessed.
Food Guidelines, January 11-31
