A&K have joined up with one of our favourite hotel partners to offer you
a totally unique and magical experience in the twinkling gem of Chile:
the awe-inspiring Atacama Desert. Although you will find it hard to step
away from your perfect slice of hotel heaven we suggest you leave a
night in our hands; be prepared for the unexpected and be wowed by a
special evening under the stars.
In this brand new expedition, exclusive to A&K, we will take you into the
middle of the mighty Atacama where you will dine alfresco to the sounds
of a crackling fire. However, don’t panic, this is definitely more glamping
style than camp-fire cowboy. You will find yourself fine Chilean wine in
hand with some lip-smacking food created by the Alto Atacama team
filling your stomachs - then time to curl up in soft blankets and watch the
twinkling star-filled sky.
A most memorable night in an otherworldly landscape

How do you get to and from the camp?
How many people does the camp take?
What is the staff/client ration?
The camp is located in a remote area and nestled
into the Salt Mountains of the Atacama Desert. To
reach it, you walk for an hour and a half on a gentle,
mostly descending path through the well-known Valle
de la Luna and beyond. During this time, you will
appreciate the small canyons carved by water through
the mountains and salt sculptured by the wind whilst
enjoying the sunset over the Andes. The following day,
you will return by vehicle on a thirty minute drive on dirt
roads back to the town of San Pedro and your hotel.
There are three tents which host up to two people in each
one so we can operate this for a maximum of six people,
always on a private basis.
Depending on the number of passengers, the
number of staff members will slightly change as well:
* There will be three staff for one to two passengers.
These are chef, guide and driver.
* There will be four staff for three to six passengers.
These are chef, guide, driver and camp assistant.

Is the camp set up when we arrive?
What is sleeping in the tent like?
How does the bathroom work?
Yes. When you arrive the camp is entirely set with
tents, tables, fire, bathroom and all other camp
amenities ready to receive you. You will be met
with refreshing cocktails and the aroma of your
upcoming barbecue dinner.
Each tent is equipped with two twin beds. Luxurious
sheets, duvet, feather pillows and thick wool blankets
assure that you will sleep as comfortably as any
other place. Inside the tent, you will also find slippers,
amenities, bottles of water and snacks to make sure
all needs are met during your night with the stars.
We bring in a luxury mobile bathroom with men’s /
women’s separate areas, running water, lights and the
same amenities as the hotel. The bathroom is located
near the tents though outside the line of sight to offer
an open view of the landscapes.
