MEDIA:Mostworksubmittedis2-D,butinquireifyouhave3-Dwork.Wedonotexcludeprints,butfindthatone-of-a-kindworks
scoredhigherandvisitorsseemtoprizethemmore.Ifyouaresubmittingmixedmedia,specifywhatthedifferentmediais.Ifyou
aresubmittingaprint,priceaccordinglyandifitispartofalimitededition,pleasespecify.Werefertoa“giclee”asaconservation
print.Allworkmustbeforsale.Ifyouwishtosubmitaworkyouarenotsureyouwanttopartwith,setahighenoughpricetomake
itworthyourwhileifyousell.
FAIRSPACE:Participantsareassignedatable2.5’x6”,ortablespaceandtwochairsandinorderofthosewhoask,accesstoa
rollingwallifpossible.Participantsareaskedtobringwhitetablecloths,orawhiteplasticcoverisprovided.Insomecases,avery
largepiecemaybeleanedagainstthewall.Thereishorizontalspaceforsculpture.Fairwillbefrom9:30AM–4:30PM.
JURIEDSPACE:Inapastshow,wewereabletoexhibitsmallpieces,andasmallersculpture,andlargerpaintings,sopleasespecify
sizesininchesontheentryform.
WHATKINDOFARTWORK?Ifyouareonlyapplyingforthefair,theworkyousendisviewedonlytodeterminegeneralabilityand
thesortofworkyoumightpresentattheArtFair.Thechurchdoesnotcensororselectwork.Ifyouarealsoacraftsperson,please
submitonlyfineartfortheseevents.Weholdapre-holidayCraftsandArtsFairintheFall.
ELIGIBILITY:Artists(includingphotographers)18oroverwholiveorworkinQueens.Ifyouhaveacompellingreasonwhyyou
shouldbeeligiblesuchasyougrewupinQueens,pleasesendaninquiryandwewilllookintoit.Allworkmustbeyourown.
ACCEPTANCEFAIR:DecisionfortheFairisdonebytwonon-participantswithpastFairexperience.Ifwerunoutoftablesoryouare
notaccepted,thereisnopublicorinternalnotice,andyourentirefeeisreturned.Ourmissionistoassist,encourageandexpose
localartists,andexposelocalpeopletoyourwork.
JURYING/PRIZES#GlimmerofHope:Ahiredtechcodesandrenamesyourimagesforpre-juryingtoexhibit.Threequalifiedart
professionalswillseetheactualexhibitinplacewithoutartistnames.Theywillbeaskedtogiveequalweighttofourcriteria,1)
creativethought,2)technicalexpertise,3)suitabilitytotopic,4)overallimpact.Jurorswillnotberevealeduntilthereception.The
highestscoreswillbeannouncedatthereceptionandawardedthe“LukeAdamsArtPrizes,”inamountsof$500,$300,and$200.
FAIRVENUE:TheFineArtFairislocatedatthegroundfloorMeetingHallatthecornerofSkillmanAvenue&44thSt.Thechurch
doesnotmakemoneyonoureventsandhoststhemasacommunityoutreach.Everyyearwehavedonatedasmuchaswecanto
thelocalfoodpantrieswiththecheckhandledbyPastorDowdwhobringsitdirectlytothepantries.Lastyearfromthreeevents,we
donated$1000.
JURIEDSHOWVENUE:WearepleasedtobereturningtoClaretWineBar,atthecornerofSkillmanAve.and46thStreet.Nopiece
maybeadjustedorremovedandifyousellyourpieceduringshow,clientsmustwaittillendofshowtotakedelivery.
RECEPTION#GlimmerofHope:Therewillbeanopeningreception,withwine,andeveryTuesdaythereaftertillendoftheshow,
guestswhowearthefreepinreceivedattheQueenofAngelsFineArtFaironJune11,willreceivea10%discountonfoodanddrink.
Ifartistswish,theycanoffera10%discountonTuesdaysontheirartwork.Oneyear,60%ofworksold.
LEGAL&LOGISTICS:Youwillbeaskedtosigna“holdharmless”formthatappliestoalleventsin2017.Wedonothandlesalesor
takeacommission.Wedonotinsureyourwork,butthusfarwithover50events,wehavenothadloss,theftordamage.
FEES:ThereisnoadmissionfeetoguestsoftheArtFair.Anymoneywecollectonrafflesorthesaleoffoodgoestopayforpins,
cards,promotion,andotherout-of-pocketexpenses.Weofferfoodtoattractvisitors.Ourpurposeistoencouragelocalartistsand
toprovidethepublicaccesstoyou.Wefunctionprimarilyondonatedspace,goodsandservicesandwithhelpfrom25volunteers.
PROMOTION:Weadvertiseinprintandonline,andiftimewillprovideafreepostcard.Flyers,postersandanemailableflyerwillbe
madeavailabletoartists.
