Unit Fraction A Fraction of one(numerator as 1) Teaching objectives: 1. divide concrete objects and pictorial representation equally, learn intuitively the knowledge of a Fraction of one,can read and write it correctly. 2. form the habit of active exploration during the process of hands-on exercises, observation and comparison.Apply the knowledge to solve the simple problems and know the connection between math and our daily life. 3. during the process of cooperation and communication with others, improve the ability of using mathematic language. Teaching process: Part1 . Preliminary understanding 1、Warm up T: Six sweets are divided into 2 equal parts, how many can each one get? T: Four oranges are divided into 2 equal parts, how many oranges can each one get? T: Two boxes of juice are divided into 2 equal parts, how much juice can each one get? T: One cake is divided into 2 equal parts, how many cakes can each one get? 2、understanding “equel” T (PPT): I divide the cake like this? Is it right?(No, because I did not divide the cake into two equal parts) T (PPT): So we regard the cake as a whole. Then we divided a whole into 2 equal parts. Each part is 1 of the cake.(板书 ) 2 3、The meaning of the numbers. 1 is read as one half.( repeat after teacher) 2 the bottom number,2,tells you 2 equal parts the cake is divided in all; the top number tells we have 1 of them. the number below the line is called the denominator.the number above the line is called the numerator. 4、How to write. When we write it,first,we write the fraction bar,it means divided something equally. then the denominator,2,below the line,it means how many equal parts there are in all .the cake is divided into 2 equal parts. At last the numerator,1,above the line,it means we have 1 of two parts. 5、conclusion:the cake is divided into 2 equal parts, one part is 1/2 of the cake. 6、Understanding 1 1 1 1 2 3 4 5 7、Conclusion:As long as the whole one in divided equally, one part is 1 1 1 1 2 3 4 5 of the whole. All these numbers are called : Fraction. Part II. Exercise 1、True or False 1 The shaded part is 2 of the picture. 2、The following coloring parts is a fraction of the whole, what are they? 3、hands-on exercises(folding and colouring the 1 4 of the Square) 1) independent operation 2) report 3) conclusion:although these colored parts look different, but we regard the same square as the whole, and we divided it into 4 equal parts,so each part is the square. 1 4 of 4、Challenge: 1) 2) Can you write the unit fraction to show the red part in picture? Part III. conclusion
