The Alan HEADING Family

In memory of my late husband Alan Heading
Alan’s family, Arthur and Hazel Heading,
brothers Bill and Colin and sister Carole came to
Maleny from Durong in 1949 when Alan was 7.
They bought the farm at North Maleny. Ross was
born here in Maleny. Alan attended Primary and
High School up at the school in Cedar Street. He
had beaut friends, fond memories and the joy of
riding his horse to school. Carole and Ross also
attended at Maleny.
Bill and Sandra’s family Vicki and Brett and their grand-children Kirsty, Jake and
Luke along with Ross and Vicki’s family Kylie, Chris and Matthew also attended
Maleny School. Sandra (Walker/Heading) had also attended Maleny High along with
her sisters Maxine and Jan, riding up from Peachester to meet the school bus on
Wootha Road.
Our sons Ralph and Rodney attended firstly Kindy/Pre-School in Cedar Street and
then Primary and High School in Bunya Street. Rodney’s sons, our grandsons, Joey and
Jimi did their primary in Bunya Street and then to the new High School up on the hill.
Our association with each of the 3 schools has spanned over the last 60 years.
