Controlling Risk with Proper Machine Guarding

Moving machine parts cause severe workplace injuries every year.
Having safeguards in place to eliminate or control the hazard are
critical to protect workers. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards require that machine parts, functions, or
processes that could cause injury be guarded. This session will provide an overview of the extent of the issue in agribusinesses and review OSHA standards that apply. Information on the various hazards
that must be addressed will be provided, and techniques for protecting workers will be discussed.
