[email protected] SUMMARY & EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES Our Global Effect Summary Though global climate change can be a controversial topic, CLIMB’s engaging and thought-provoking class uses up-to-date research to present what is happening in the world. It challenges teenagers to consider where their opinions come from and to do their own research on any issue before committing to a viewpoint. Our Actor-Educators leave students with this message: regardless of one’s opinion on global climate change, it is everyone’s responsibility to care for the environment. Educational Objectives l To assess the students’ opinions on whether global climate change is happening as a result of human actions and how strongly they feel about it. l To encourage students to look critically at the sources of their opinions and information. l To share with students basic scientific information about climate change. l To share some possible consequences for global climate change. l To explore actions that people can take to care for the environment, whether or not they believe that humans are causing global climate change. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
