PROJECT: CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS – HERO OR VILLAIN?
TASK:
In class today, we learned about Christopher Columbus’s landmark 1492 voyage
from two different perspectives. Now you must choose the perspective that you
believe best fits Christopher Columbus, and do the following…

If you choose the EUROPEAN perspective and believe Columbus is
ultimately a HERO, design a POSTER COMMEMORATING HIS VOYAGE.
Your poster should include the following:







A Title explaining the celebration to be held
An illustration, picture, or drawing of Columbus
His nationality and occupation (job)
What country sponsored his voyages
Where the celebration commemorating his voyage will be held
Why his voyage is being celebrated (Why was it heroic?)
If you choose the TAINO INDIAN perspective Columbus is a VILLAIN,
design a WANTED POSTER for his arrest. Your Wanted Poster should
include the following:
A Title that says “Wanted” in bold
An illustration, picture, or drawing of Columbus
His name and occupation (job)
Where Columbus is from
His specs (height, weight, etc.)
What country sponsored his voyages
Where he was last seen
 Make a list of his crimes (Be concise yet specific)







