Scholarship application materials must be dropped off at the “Hoover Groove
mailbox located in the Hoover High School mailroom no later than 3:00 pm on
Monday, May 7, 2012.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a candidate must:

Be a Hoover Senior graduating between February and June 2012.
Have been enrolled for a minimum of four semesters (does not need to be consecutive) in a
Hoover Visual or Performing Arts Class.
Be planning to attend a two or four year college, or other post-secondary program in any major.
Be a current member of Hoover Groove or submit with this application a $5.00 check made
payable to: Hoover Groove, for a student membership.
Have a minimum 2.0 GPA (submit an unofficial transcript with your application).
Write an essay that is Arts-related. For example, “How Music/Art/ Drama has contributed to my
life”. Type the essay on a separate piece of paper and staple it to this application. The essay
must be between 250-500 words, double-spaced, 12 pt. Times New Roman. You may turn in a
college application essay you have already submitted as long as it is arts-related and meets the
word count and typing requirements.
