SISTER ATTRACTA CAULFIELD Sister Attracta was instrumental in the study of music at Star through 1950s and 1960s. Not only was she a most accomplished music teacher, she was passionate about singing & proudly took charge of the School Choir. The School Choir eventually evolved to become what we now know as Stacella. Sister Attracta came to Melbourne in the 1920s. Coming from Dublin the daughter of hoteliers, she had the beautiful Irish lilt & was known throughout the community for her wonderful hospitality. After moving from Star in the 1960’s she spent many years in Myrtleford where she continued to teach her much beloved music. Germaine Greer in her writings often mentions her, while being forever grateful for instilling in her a passionate love of music. Sister Attracta died in 1999 & the school has since had the entrance from outside the chapel to the convent named in her honour.
