Product 6: wPRISMA
Objective and benefits
wPRISMA is an interactive web map application that provides information about water quality of
surface water bodies. It uses a water quality model in order to predict the spatial and temporal
variation of concentrations of selected pollutants in surface water bodies. The main objectives of
wPRISMA are

to identify areas or water bodies that experience significant pressures from diffuse and point
sources of pollution.
to identify areas susceptible to accidental or uncontrolled pollution where EQS exceedance
is likely to occur
to identify industrial units which due to their size or position are likely to cause EQS
exceedance in case of an incident.
