INSTRUCTIONS: Pint jars or metric equivalent are required for Canning.
½ Pint jars or metric equivalent are required for Jams & Jellies. Wrong sized
jars will be disqualified. Should there be more than 6 entries in any section,
a 4th prize of $2.00 may be given. Entries must be in place by 11:00 am.
Friday of the Fair and may not be removed until 4:30 Monday of the Fair.
NOTE: NEW LIDS ONLY TO BE USED. JARS NOT SEALED WILL BE
DISQUALIFIED. NO WAX TO BE USED EXCEPT FOR FREEZER JAM.

1. Prize winning Jams must be made with Bernardin Pectin. Proof of
purchase plus Recipe must accompany entry tag.
2. Complete a Release and Declaration form with their name, address and
phone number.
3. Indicate what contest and placing they have won.
4. Submit a photograph of yourself and winning product, recipe and proof
of purchase.

42. BERNARDIN ADULT HOME CANNER “BEST OF THE SHOW”
AWARD.
Prize winner must have three (3) home canning entries in the fair (pint
or ½ pint jars). Winner is Fair’s Best Home Canner based on highest
accumulated points in Canning Class
PRIZE MONEY: Bernardin Adult Best of Show Prize, $30.00 gift

43. BERNARDIN GIFT BASKET AWARD. Must include at least three (3)
filled mason jars ( pint or ½ pint jars) sealed with Bernardin Snap or
Bernardin Collection Elite Lids and be submitted in an appropriate
container, not necessarily a basket. Maximum cost of container and
components, not to exceed $20.00. Entry may be decorated for any

theme (holiday, get well etc.) and may include appropriate additional
items such as soap, candles, candy, soup mixes etc. Judge’s winner
based on creativity, quality of home canned product, perceived value
and appropriateness of presentation.
PRIZE MONEY: 1st Bernardin $20.00 Gift Prize, 2nd $7.00, 3rd $5.00, 4th
$3.00. (2nd - 4th prize money donated by Erin Agricultural Society).
