to add teachers to our classrooms. As a result of your efforts in

The foundation began in the
1992-93 school year when
Oregon school districts lost
the ability to set their own
budgets and became limited
by the amount allocated by the
state. Our mission is to bridge
the gap between state funding
and what is needed to to advance the school district's mission: creating learning communities for the greatest
thinkers and most thoughtful
people... for the world.

the 2014-2015 Honor Our Teachers and the COUNT Me In
campaigns, many schools doubled, if not tripled their donor participation.
In August, we were able to present a check for $123,000 to the
WLWV School Board. These funds are to be used directly to add
teaching positions to the district. We thank you!
We look forward to your continued support this school year, with
our 2015-16 HOT and COUNT Campaigns and our Blazers and
Tonkin Fun Run events. With your help, we can maintain effective class sizes and keep our district one of the best in Oregon.

Elaine Cozart was unanimously
voted president. Elaine is Area
Director and Owner of Club Z!
Tutoring in West Linn. She will
take over for Jay Puppo, who
stepped down from the role after 3 years of hard work and
dedication.
Teri Willard was also unanimously voted in as secretary. David
Steinberg will continue his role
as vice president, and Jim
Kamikawa will remain as treasurer.

Important Dates
As students settle into their classroom routines this Fall, the
foundation and its volunteers are busy getting ready to kick off
the first of our two major fundraising efforts for the year -the
Honor Our Teachers campaign.
In celebration of the season and of the excellence in our schools,
the HOT campaign begins November 30 and runs through December 14.
You will have the opportunity to invest in our children while
honoring our teachers and staff by giving a donation to the foundation. In return, the teacher/staff member you honor will receive
a certificate to post in their room and a letter stating that you
made a donation on their behalf. It’s a great gift and also a yearend tax deduction. Look for more information via e-mail as the
