“Brothers and sisters,
during this Lent, let us all ask the Lord: Make our hearts like yours. In this way we will receive a heart which is firm and
merciful, attentive and generous, a heart which is not closed, indifferent or prey to the globalization of indifference.”

FASTING
ALMSGIVING
Also known as Reconciliation or Penance, Confession puts us face
to face with the mercy and forgiveness of Christ.
The Church requires all those
between 18 and 59 years of
age to fast and abstain from
meat on Ash Wednesday and
Good Friday.
Service (Or Almsgiving)
helps us experience
faith in action.
Reconciliation Service - Monday, March 23 at 7:00 pm
Hear God’s word proclaimed, then take part in an examination of
conscience. Several priests, from our parish and elsewhere, will
assist with individual confessions and absolution as you are ready.

Fasting allows a
person to eat one
full meal. Two
smaller meals may
be taken, not to equal one
full meal.
All Catholics age 14 and
older are to
abstain from meat on the
Fridays of Lent.
Our parish offers many
opportunities to make
a difference and grow
in awareness of the
needs of the poor.
Watch the bulletin and
website for upcoming
events.
