• Very high efficiency high-power low frequency unit with one
(MiniBass) and two (StackBass) 15” medium excursion woofers
loaded by a hybrid system of phase inversion with a horn-tuned
chamber (Band Pass/Horn).
• High power handling capacity (350/700 Watts AES, 1400/2800 Watts
peak) and sound pressure (136/142dB peak at 1 metre).
• Woofers mounted in separate chambers (StackBass) ensure operation
even in the event of the breakage of one of them.
• The cabinet is reinforced internally to ensure the utmost sturdiness,
eliminating coloration due to resonance.
APPLICATIONS
• No-nonsense use anywhere considerable sound energy at low and
mid/low frequencies us required from 45Hz. Also ideal as mid/low
unit in multi-channel systems when a certain “projection” of the
sound in this range is required, for example between the subwoofer
and satellite of a loudspeaker system.
• Live concerts, rave parties, fixed installation in clubs for playing
back Techno music.

Loudspeaker systems suitable for the high sound level reproduction of low
and mid-low frequencies. Use one (MiniBass) and two (StackBass) 15” woofers
loaded according to a hybrid configuration that combines the merits of horns
and systems with band pass phase inversion and tuned chamber. The
peculiarity of this loading consists in obtaining a noticeable projection of
the sound in the so-called mid/low frequency band starting from 100Hz. For
this reason, the frequency response and the band in which they are used
isn’t moved towards the very low frequencies, as is the case with the
subwoofers, but is nevertheless sufficiently wide for the reproduction of the
vast majority of music programs. The performance is remarkably high
compared with the components used thank exactly to the acoustic gain
which this type of loading allow to realize. In the MiniBass, the useable
frequency range at –10dB goes from 48Hz to 1kHz. The complete system’s
frequency response, measured on-axis according to AES standards is within
+/-3dB from 58Hz to 700Hz. It produces 102dbSPL on axis at 1 metre, driven
hanging in full space with 1 Watt on input at rated impedance, and is able
to produce a maximum peak pressure of 133dBSPL in the same conditions
with 1400 Watts peak on input. In 2π configuration, 3dB are added to these
values, reaching respectively 105 and no less than 136 peak, a remarkably
high value when bearing in mind that it’s generated by just one 15”
loudspeaker. The MiniBass is able to handle a maximum power of 350 Watts
according to AES standards at a minimum impedance of 7.6 Ohms. The
StackBass, with two loudspeakers, has a useable band at –10dB from 45Hz
to 700Hz, whereas the response is within +/-3dB from 55Hz to 550Hz. The
sound pressure in full space according to AES standards is 105dB with 1W at
1m, whereas in 2π it rises to 108dB. At maximum continuous power AES,
700W at the minimum impedance of 3.8 Ohms 133dBSPL is obtained full
space, 136dBSPL in 2π, while peak values reach respectively 139dBSPL and
no less than 142dBSPL at 1m. Both systems have a parallelepiped cabinet
built from 15mm high quality Baltic birch plywood. Inside, as well as bracing
to ensure even greater panel rigidity and avoid vibrations, a plywood wall
curved with infrared techniques is rigidly assembled, with twice the dimensions
in the case of the StackBass, forming an expansion port, the horn, by means
of which the characteristic “projection” of the mid/low frequency band is
achieved. The StackBass also has the peculiarity of low second harmonic
distortion for the inverted symmetric fitting of the two loudspeakers, in
relation to the output vent. The cabinets are finished in quality scratchresistant black paint. Connectors are Neutrik Speakon NL4: two on the
MiniBass to facilitate connecting several units in parallel, and one on the
StackBass, with 1+ and 1- for one speaker, 2+ and 2- for the other. This type
of connection, plus the fact that the speakers are mounted in two separate
chambers enables the connection of two different signals, stereo, and/or
the use of two separate amplification channels. The front of both models
is protected by a vibration-free aluminium mesh covered in acoustically
transparent foam. Both are fitted with a socket for fitting the optional
satellite support; two/twelve recessed handles (MiniBass/StackBass) facilitate
handling, while StackBass can also be fitted with a set of sturdy highly
smooth-running wheels facilitate transport even on rather rough ground.
The market names are respectively MINIBASS and STACKBASS.
