From the Red Panel (A): • Fussy cut (1) large panel with ¼” seam allowance, approximately 18 ½” square. Fussy cut (4) small panels, approximately 8 ½” square. From the Stripe (B): • Fussy cut (2) car strips from the length of fabric (LOF), approximately 4” x 18 ½”. • Fussy cut (2) boat strips from LOF, approximately 4” x 18 ½”. From the Black Pennants (C): • Fussy cut (4) 2” x 18 ½” (WOF) strips. From the White Dots (D), cut: • (4) 1 ½” x WOF strips. Sub-cut the strips into (8) 1 ½” x 18 ½” strips. From the Red Stars (E), cut: • (2) 1 ½” x WOF strips. Sub-cut the strips into (4) 1 ½” x 18 ½” strips. • (2) 1 ½” x 34 ½” strips. • (2) 1 ½” x 36 ½” strips. From the Blue Owls (F), cut: • (2) 6 ½” x 36 ½” LOF strips. • (2) 6 ½” x 36 ½” WOF strips. Page 1 From the Yellow Sheep (G), cut: • (1) 6 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut the strip into (4) 6 ½” squares. From the Checkerboard, cut: • (5) 2 ½” x WOF strips for the binding. From the Yellow Sheep (Backing), cut: • (2) 56” x WOF strips. Piece the strips together and trim to make one 56” x 56” backing piece. Rhyme Time Panel Quilt 7. Sew the five 2 ½” x WOF Fabric H strips together, end to end with 45º seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press. Center Block Assembly Instructions 1. Sew the following fabric strips together in order: (1) 1 ½” x 18 ½” Fabric E strip, (1) 1 ½” x 18½” Fabric D strip, (1) 4” x 18 ½” Fabric B car strip, (1) 1 ½” x 18 ½” Fabric D strip and (1) 2” x 18 ½” Fabric C strip with Fabric E as the bottom (Fig. 1). Repeat to make a second strip. Sew one strip to each side of the 18 ½” x 18 ½” Fabric A large panel. D E 8. Bind as desired. D B Cars C A D Fig. 2 G F G Fig. 1 2. Sew the following fabric strips together in order: (1) 1 ½” x 18 ½” Fabric E strip, (1) 1 ½” x 18½” Fabric D strip, (1) 4” x 18 ½” Fabric B boat strip, (1) 1 ½” x 18 ½” Fabric D strip and (1) 2” x 18 ½” Fabric C strip. Repeat to make a second strip. Sew one 8 ½” Fabric A square to each end of the strips (Fig. 2). Sew the strips to the top and bottom of the 18 ½” x 18 ½” Fabric A large panel to make the quilt top. Sew one 1 ½” x 36 ½” Fabric E strip to the top and bottom of the quilt top. 4. Sew one 6 ½” x 36 ½” Fabric F strip to each side of the quilt top. 5. Sew one 6 ½” Fabric G square to each end of one 6 ½” x 36 ½” Fabric F strip. Repeat to make a second strip. Sew the strips to the top and bottom of the quilt top. 6.
