**N Barker sold a lamb in aid of Diabetes UK & Psoriasis
Association which made £130 bought by MN Alam.**
AUCTIONEER’S REPORT (Greg MacDougall):- Another
satisfactory hogg trade with an overall average of 162p (SQQ
171.7p) being achieved. A mixed show of quality overall with
more well fleshed hoggs on the market. Best bred hoggs short
of requirements often selling between 200p-230p topping at
245.3p. Handy-weight export types 37-42kg 170p-180p with
common sorts 160p-170p. Those weighing 46-49kg harder to
place often £70-£75. Heavy weights dearer on the week £80£99 depending on weight and quality. More Mule hoggs
forward to average 154p with handy weights towards 160p.
Topping the section was Messrs Redmayne Brothers with a pen
of 49kg selling to £77 with others to £75.20 and £75 while
WI&AM Atkinson took home £76.50 for their pen. Horned
sheep once again harder to cash particularly tups. Most in
general 145p-155p with the heavier end £64-£74. Light weight
Ctls averaging 180p with smarter goods 200p+ to top at £79
for 35kg from RF Morphet, Lancaster. Topping the nights sale
was a Valais Blacknose x Hogg from Nigel Barker. It weighed
53kg later selling for £130 with the proceeds being donated to
the Psoriasis Assocation and Diabetes UK.
