● A group of 100 Puritans- aka Pilgrims
set out to the new world on the
Mayflower - 1620
● 1st Order- Mayflower Compact- Pilgrims agreed
to follow set laws before leaving ship
● 1st settlement was called Plymouth
● 1st Winter ½ the population died
GREAT MIGRATION
● Over the next two
decades, thousands of
English migrated to the
Plymouth area
● They named the colony

● Consisted of 20,000 plus
