ART PROGRAM MAJOR EXPECTATIONS: Students majoring in art studio must satisfactorily complete 11 courses in the department (total includes 2 semesters of Senior Thesis ): Drawing I (ARST131), at least 8 courses numbered 200 or higher and at least one semester of Senior Thesis; however, two semesters are expected. These courses must include four additional art studio courses, at least one of which must be in either of the three-dimensional areas (sculpture or architecture) for a total of five studios, and four art history courses, one of which must be non-Western, one of which must be classical through Renaissance, and one of which must be post-Renaissance. Further course study in art studio and art history is recommended. 100-level art history courses may, in some cases, be substituted for the requirement of courses at the 200 level.
