A little challenge for the holidays:
Members of the Commonwealth.
These fifty-four diverse nations represent a quarter of the world’s population and include republics,
national monarchies as well as those who recognise Queen Elizabeth as their Head of State. However, all
these nations acknowledge Queen Elizabeth II as Head of the Commonwealth.
Can you name them? Some have two blank spaces together and some have more than one word.

from A Garden of Solitude edited by Rowland Croucher
Lord, if in quietness and confidence is my strength;
If I know you best by being still;
If I rest by ‘coming apart’ from life’s busyness;
And if I get more and better work done in six days rather than seven….
Help me to understand that my life’s quality is not to be measured by its speed
or my self-worth by multiple attainments…..
Most of nature praises you in silence…..
The best of music is enhanced by its pauses….
Life’s most beautiful things are often still and quiet:
Sunsets,
Flowers,
The night sky,
A tree at dusk,
A sleeping baby.
You are waiting in the silence…..
