Art Studios - Minneapolis Institute of Art

YOUTH CLASSES > WINTER
2012–2013
Ages 4–8
Art Studios
The museum’s Art Studio series focuses on developmentally appropriate themes and materials, provides oneon-one instruction with certified teachers, and supports 21st-century skill development. Designed to advance
young people’s hands-on creative and analytical skills from one studio to the next, each series builds on the
foundations of art to nurture students’ confidence, self-expression, and appreciation of art.
In the galleries, youth spend time learning directly from museum masterpieces. In the studio, students
practice creative problem-solving and exploration while experimenting with an array of artistic mediums.
Selected artworks by students are displayed in the Community Commons Gallery.
