XVIII Silesian Archaeological Symposium refer to the wide themes concerning archaeology
of Silesia and its neighbouring regions from the oldest traces of human activity to the Post-Medieval
Period.
The long-term tradition of the conference is their interdisciplinary character. The conference
is addressed to archaeologists, historians, art and architecture historians and geologists, who carry out
research on archaeological sites and analyse archaeological finds from Poland and Europe.
Participants are invited to present their newest findings, starting from results of excavations,
through case studies to wider analytical papers, and interdisciplinary studies from Palaeolithic to the
modern times. We are looking forward to receiving your presentations on methods, methodology,
protection of the cultural heritage and application of new survey methods including non-destructive
archaeology and advanced specialistic analysis. The researchers on non-European civilisations
(e.g. archaeology of Americas, Africa etc.) are most welcome as well.
Conference languages: English, German, Czech, Russian, Polish.
Your contributions may have the form of papers (15 min.), reports (10 min.) or posters.

We also ask you to sent abstract of your presentation (1 page, max. 1800 words) in German
or English.
