PRE-PRIMARY THEME FOR NEXT
WEEK: My Home and Safety in the home
Dear Parents
We have been blessed with gorgeous sunny skies lately. With this
blessing comes high temperatures. Along with our ‘no hat-no play’
policy we have been monitoring and sometimes restricting outdoor
sessions. Our teachers are being vigilant and insisting on either
playing under cover in the shade or the children have the option of
remaining indoors for free play sessions. Sports sessions were
shortened this week and only those who had water bottles
participated. We have postponed daily sessions at the bike track.

GRADE 0 PARENT CAPS INFORMATION EVENING – WEDNESDAY 8 FEBRUARY 2017
Calling all parents of our Grade 0 children! Please join Teacher Amy and Carolyn at 17h00 in the computer room. Our
developmental programme involves the CAPS curriculum and we would like to share what this means for your children
and highlight the ways in which we explore the concepts. We will also be chatting about our inclusion of Time2Read in
our phonics programme as well as introducing you to the exciting world of Mathletics. This is a wonderful year in
which the children really blossom while becoming “school ready”. Don’t miss out. RSVP to Lucille please.
ANNUAL PICNIC SUCCESS!
Thank you to all the Mommies and
Daddies, our dedicated Coach Jaco
and our Trintyhouse Staff who made
the effort to participate in our picnic
last Saturday! We all had great fun
and I have some wonderful photo’s!
(Staff members who wish to remain out
of the newsletter during their Haka
manoeuvre may see me - bearing
appropriately expensive gifts!!!!!)
Valentine’s Day 14th February:
We will be celebrating love by
coming to school wearing red,
pink, white (any or all of those
colours). Please send along R5 or
a tin of dog/cat food to donate to
Chantal who will be visiting us
that day from the SPCA. Our
babies just love animals!
GRADE 000 INFORMATION
It was clear to see how much the
Sea Stars adore their precious
families. We learnt so many new
names for Grandparents! We are
busy with sentence starters:
Families like to… Liam said: “keep
everyone safe” Families are…Talia:
“people that make you feel better”.

GRADE 00 INFORMATION
Next week we will learn about
mind mapping: chatting about the
various rooms and sorting items
that can be associated with each.
We will be exploring the concept
of big and small. Please allow your
child to practice their cutting skills
with magazines at home under
supervision.
GRADE 0 INFORMATION
The Seals found it very exciting to
experiment with rising hot air this week.
We watched the balloon expand as we
heated the bottle.
Next week we will be learning all about
our homes and how to stay safe. When
discussing the variety of homes we live in,
we will talk about animals’ homes too.
We will learn about looking after and
respecting all homes, everywhere.
Show and Tell is on Thursday: c.a.t.m.o.p
