We are half way through our annual New Student Orientation, formally known as Rocket Launch. Echoes of the UT fight song
can be heard throughout campus from UT’s enthusiastic orientation
leaders as they guide the new Rockets through our beautiful and
ever expanding campus. This year, each new student will be provided a success coach who will guide them throughout their entire academic career. Unlike academic advisors, success coaches will not
change even when a student decides to change their major. Each
student’s success coach will be with them from their first class, until
they walk across the stage to collect their diploma.
A vast number of Auxiliary Service operations are represented at
the Information Fair during the New Student Orientations. Our excitement flourishes as we share information regarding our various
departments and all that UT has to offer. Whether the conversation
is on our wonderful bookstore, banking options, meal plans, parking
permits, Rocket Cards, dining venues, The Launch Pad, cellular options or understanding where Rocket Dollars can be used (on/off
campus), students and their parents are excited to learn more.
The Auxiliary Services orientation team will continue to present at
various orientations throughout summer and fall. If you have an
event in which you would like our staff to be present, or if you would
like information, please contact us at [email protected] . We
look forward to supporting our UT community.
Cash in a Flash
Have you ever visited a main campus vending machine to purchase that much desired snack for $1.25 only to find that all you
had was a $5 bill? Well, this is a great reasons to utilize one of the
three PHIL stations on our campuses. Once money is loaded, you
can swipe your card, to retrieve you snack. This eliminates the
need to carry change around. Adding Rocket Dollars on your account is quick and easy. You can use either our E-Card website
https://rocketcardplus.utoledo.edu or visit one of the PHIL stations.

request tool http://www.utoledo.edu/
offices/auxiliary/businessforms.html for
access needs. We are pleased with
the positive feedback from our valued customers. Our typical turn
around time is one to two business
days. During peak times please
allow three business days.
The Health Science Campus,
uses a different door access system
which is managed by UTPD. UTPD
will issue a secondary card called a
“prox card”. To request access or a
prox card:
1. The requestor must submit a
photo using the link found on the
Rocket Card website
www.utoledo.edu/rocketcard.
2. The department administrator
must send an email to [email protected] specifying the doors and the timeframe in
which the access needs to be granted.
For full-service assistance, please
visit the ID Office on either campus.
More than half of the vending machines on main campus are
equipped with card readers as well as our dining/convenience
stores. On Health Science Campus both the Four Season Bistro and
merchants. For a list of off campus
the Satellites Gift Shop accepts Rocket Dollars.

Independence Day
“We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men
are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these
are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.”
The nationally celebrated holiday known as Independence Day celebrates the anniversary of our nation’s independence from
Great Britain in 1776. What many people don’t know is that the wording of the
document was agreed upon on July 4th however the actual document was not
signed until August 2, 1776.
Fun Facts
 John Hancock, President of the Continental Congress, was the first signer. This
merchant by trade did so in an entirely blank space making it the largest and
most famous signature - hence the term John Hancock, which is still used today as a synonym for signature.

The White House observes July 4 every year by hosting events that can include
barbecues, and USO shows in honor of veterans and troops. Additionally there
are numerous activities and fireworks for families.

The University is pleased to offer two solutions for your
banking needs; The UT Federal Credit Union and Huntington
National Bank.
Summer
The construction is nearly complete for both of the new Huntington branches. These branches are located in the Student
Union and the Gateway Plaza and are both full service banks.
The UT Federal Credit Union offers a variety of services at
their two convenient on-campus locations; Student Union and
Mulford Library.
Rocky’s Technology Central
We are pleased to announce that in early August 2013
Rocky’s Technology Central will be the source for all your
technology needs. The technology store is located on the first
floor of the Student Union (across from Rocky's Grill and next
to the UT Copy Center) and will be open to all active UT Rocket Card holders. We'll carry a wide range of the Apple products you want -- including Mac, iPad and iPod -- along with
PCs, printers, gaming systems, accessories and much
more. We're almost here! Please watch for more information on Rocky's Technology Central as construction winds
to a close.

We are excited about the new payment
method for Rocket Wireless customers.
This new method allows the customer to
be in control of their account and keeps
their personal information private. This is
the latest upgrade to the Pinnacle system
which was deployed three years ago and
allowed customers the ability to view their
bills electronically.
The direct customer pay enhancement
was released in mid-June and has been
well received. The payment link can be
found on the home page of your Pinnacle
account. Customer select either the option to pay for their equipment or their
monthly bill.
The system remains available 24/7
which provides increased flexibility to our
customers. If you have questions on eligibility or making a payment, we can be
reached at [email protected].
The next phase of the enhancements
will include an auto-pay feature. This will
allow our customers to set up a reoccurring deduction through the University’s
third party payment provider.
