Octopus O! ePay User Guide 1. Introduction Octopus O! ePay (“O! ePay”) is a network-based stored value and payment service operated and managed by us, Octopus Cards Limited that enables an O! ePay account holder to perform person-to-person payment with other O! ePay account holders, online payment, fund transfer between his/her bank account and O! ePay account or fund transfer between his/her O! ePay account and registered Octopus cards or products anytime and anywhere via O! ePay app (“O! ePay App”) installed on mobile devices. 2. Eligibility To use O! ePay, you need to apply for an O! ePay account (“O! ePay Account”). To do so, you have to be: 12 years old or above for O! ePay Lite; If you want to upgrade your O! ePay Lite account, you have to be: 18 years old or above with a valid HKID for O! ePay Plus; or 18 years old or above with a valid HKID and a bank account holder of Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) for O! ePay Pro. You can only register for ONE O! ePay Account at any one time. 3. O! ePay App To use O! ePay, you need to download the free O! ePay App from Google Play Store or Apple App Store. O! ePay App currently supports the following mobile device operating systems: Apple iOS version 7 or above; or Android operating system 4.0 or above 4. Application You can apply for your O! ePay Account via the following channels: (i) Submit via O! ePay App for O! ePay Lite; or (ii) Through our Authorised Partners for O! ePay Pro Please refer to our website at www.octopus.com.hk for the list of authorised partners. After submitting your application via the Authorised Partner, please download the O! ePay App and login with your mobile number to complete the application. 4.1. Account Upgrade to O! ePay Plus 1 After you have registered for an O! ePay Lite Account, you can upgrade to an O! ePay Plus through your O! ePay App. Simply follow the instruction to provide the required information and copy of your HKID. Under normal circumstance, it takes around 3 working days for us to process your upgrade request upon receipt of all the required information and documents. 5. Using the O! ePay 5.1. Person-to-Person Payment You can perform person-to-person payment (“P2P Payment”) with your friends who are also holders of O! ePay Account by adding them or accepting their requests to add them as your “Friend(s)” on your O! ePay Account. 5.2. Fund Transfer between O! ePay Account and Registered Octopus You can make fund transfer between your O! ePay Account and your registered Octopus (“Registered Octopus”) via NFC (Near Field Communication) enabled Android mobile devices or iOS mobile devices paired up with Octopus Mobile Reader by completing a one-time registration of your selected Octopus via O! ePay App. Please note that you can only register an Octopus with a 9-digit number (eight digits plus one bracketed digit) as Registered Octopus. 5.3. Add Value to an O! ePay Account via Standard Chartered Bank If you are a bank account holder of Standard Chartered Bank (HK) (“SCB”), you can add value to your O! ePay Account through O! ePay App or e-banking and mobile banking system of SCB. 5.4. Add Value to an O! ePay Account via 7-Eleven You can add value to your O! ePay Account in one of the 7-Eleven convenience stores in Hong Kong by presenting the QR code in your O! ePay App and paying in cash. 5.5. Fund Transfer with Bank Service You can make fund transfer between your bank account and O! ePay Account by setting up a direct debit authorization through the O! ePay App. The service is eligible for all O! ePay Plus and O! ePay Pro Accounts. 5.6. Online Payment You can make online purchase with your O! ePay Account for settling the payment to online merchants or service providers 6. Managing your O! ePay Account 6.1. Transaction Record You can review your O! ePay transaction records for the past 90 days and up to past 12 months’ monthly statements on your O! ePay Account. 2 6.2. Forget Password Click the “Forgotten?” button on your O! ePay App and input the registered mobile number. You will receive a confirmation email at your registered email account. Simply follow the instruction to reset the password. 6.3. Change of Personal Information For any change of personal information, please contact our Octopus Customer Service Hotline at 2266 2222. 6.4. Device Management You can connect up to 2 mobile devices to access your O! ePay Account, but you can only log in to your O! ePay Account on one device at any one time. If you have lost your mobile device or it malfunctions, you can log in to your O! ePay Account using another device, and disconnect access to the lost/malfunctioned device through “Info and Settings” on your O! ePay Account. 6.5. Account Cancellation If you wish to cancel your O! ePay Account, please call our Octopus Customer Service Hotline at 2266 2222. We will arrange refund of your account balance to you. 7. Stored Value Limit and Transaction Limits O! ePay Lite O! ePay Plus O! ePay Pro Stored Value Limit* HK$3,000 HK$10,000 HK$10,000 Daily Transaction Limit^ Up to HK$3,000 Up to HK$10,000 Up to HK$10,000 Annual Transaction Limit# HK$25,000 HK$100,000 No Limit * For smart tips on using stored value facilities, please refer to this link. ^ The default setting is HK$3,000, you may adjust the limit on the profile page in your O! ePay app. # You may check the start date of the annual transaction limit on the profile page in your O! ePay app. 7.1. Daily Transaction Limit Daily transaction limit is the maximum aggregated total of the following transactions on daily basis: P2P payment (from your O! ePay account) Fund transfer to Registered Octopus 3 Online payment Fund transfer to bank 7.2. Annual Transaction Limit Annual transaction limit is the maximum aggregated total of the following transactions in a membership year: P2P payment (from your friends) Top up through 7-Eleven Fund transfer from Registered Octopus Fund transfer from bank 8. Fees and Charges Please refer to the table below for fees and charges currently applicable to O! ePay: O! ePay Account Fee Nil P2P Payment Fee Nil Bank Account Fund Transfer Fee If the aggregate amount of fund transfer to bank in a calendar month is HK$5,000 or less: Nil If the aggregate amount of fund transfer to bank in a calendar month exceeds HK$5,000: 0.5% of the amount exceeding HK$5,000 O! ePay Account Cancellation Fee Nil Paper monthly statement fee HK$50 per print-out of monthly statement up to 7 years 9.
