Plant Tissue Jigsaw Leaf Tissue Cross Section

Legend:
A-cuticle (light blue)
B-epidermis (yellow)
C-guard cells (pink)
D-palisade layer (dark green)
Construction of Plant Tissue Leaf Model:
E-bundle sheath (dark blue)
F-spongy layer (light green)
G-xylem (orange)
H-phloem (purple)
1. Choose a leaf template and cut out two leaves from green construction paper.
2. Color all leave tissues on the cross section diagram above according to the legend
using crayons, colored pencils, or markers.
3. Color the stomata and surrounding guard cells.
4. Cut out the tissue cross section.
5. Glue the petioles and lower half of the two green leaves together.
6. Fold back the top half of the green leaf and glue the tissue cross section into the
crease. Making sure that the cross section is orientated correctly.
7. Cut out the stomata and glue to the underside of the leaf.
