Create a class word bank of doing words typical of sea life. Create a
Wanted Ad for an under the sea animal looking for a home (linked to
Sharing a Shell book by Julia Donaldson – song online). Identify features
of non-fiction books and use this language whilst using books. Create a
class Under the Sea fact book about sea plants and animals after
reading non-fiction books. Use sea themed sentence cards in small
groups to develop story writing. Write about feelings after reading the
Rainbow Fish story.
Expressive Art and Design Paintings of the sea - in various
moods, making sea creatures underwater collage, Painting with
watercolour, shades of a colour, Lighthouse making/ drawings,
creating a special lunch for the lighthouse keeper, making boats
and ships from using different materials.
