From the Birds - Green (A), cut: • (1) 6 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut strip into (6) 6 ½” squares. • (4) 3 ½” x WOF strips. Sub-cut strips into (48) 3 ½” squares. From the Pinecone Clusters - Brown (B), cut: • (24) Template One triangles. • (24) Template Three triangles. From the Trees Texture - Lt. Blue (C), cut: • (48) Template Two triangles. • (8) 3 ½” x WOF strips. Sub-cut strips into (96) 3 ½” squares. From the Tossed Holly Sprigs - Brown (D), cut: • (4) 3 ½” x WOF strips. Sub-cut strips into (48) 3 ½” squares. From the Trees Texture - Green (E), cut: • (24) Template One triangles. • (24) Template Three triangles. From the Birds - Lt. Blue (F), cut: • (1) 6 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut strip into (6) 6 ½” squares. From the Trees Texture - Dk. Blue (G), cut: • (4) 2 ½” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together, end to end with diagonal seams, and cut (2) 2 ½” x 72 ½” strips. • (3) 2 ½” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together, end to end with diagonal seams, and cut (2) 2 ½” x 58 ½” strips. • (8) 2 ½” x WOF strips for the binding. From the Scenic - Lt. Blue (H), cut: • (2) 5 ½” x 76 ½” strips from the length of fabric (LOF). • (4) 5 ½” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together, end to end with diagonal seams, and cut (2) 5 ½” x 68 ½” strips. From the Tossed Holly Sprigs - Lt. Blue (Backing), cut: • (2) 94” x WOF strips for the backing. Sew the strips together and trim to make the 76” x 94” back. A Winter Song make 24 Sewing Instructions 1. Sew (2) 3 ½” Fabric A squares and (2) 3 ½” A C Fabric C squares together to make (1) AC block (Fig. 1). Repeat to make (24) AC blocks total. C A Fig. 1 2. Place one Fabric B-Template One triangle on top of one Fabric C-Template Two triangle, right sides together, aligning the left sides (Fig. 2). Sew the two triangles together along the left side. Press the smaller triangle open. Page 2 Pieced 7. Repeat Steps 2-3 using (24) Fabric E-Template Ones, (24) Fabric C-Template Twos and (24) Fabric E Template-Template Threes to make (24) 6 ½” ECE units (Fig. 7). make 24 E E C Fig. 7 8. Sew (4) DC blocks, (4) ECE units and (1) 6 ½” Fabric F square together to make (1) Block Two (Fig. 8). Repeat to make (6) Block Twos total. 3. Place one Fabric B-Template Three triangle on top of the Fabric C-Template Two triangle, right sides together, aligning the right sides (Fig. 3). Sew the two triangles together along the right side. Press the smaller triangle open to make one BCB unit (Fig. 4). Trim the BCB unit to measure 6 ½” square. make 24 B B C Fig. 2 Fig. 3 Fig. 4 4. Repeat Steps 2-3 to make (24) BCB units total. 5. Sew (4) AC blocks, (4) BCB units and (1) 6 ½” Fabric A square together to make (1) Block One (Fig. 5). Repeat to make (6) Block Ones total. make 6 Fig. 8 Quilt Top Assembly (Refer to the Quilt Photo while assembling.) 9. Sew (1) Block One to each side of (1) Block Two to make Row One. Repeat to make Row Three. 10. Sew (1) Block Two to each side of (1) Block One to make Row Two. Repeat to make Row Four. 11. Sew the (4) rows together, in numerical order, to make the quilt top. 12. Sew (1) 2 ½” x 72 ½” Fabric G strip to the each side of the quilt top. Sew (1) 2 ½” x 58 ½” Fabric G strip to the top and to the bottom of the quilt top. make 6 Fig. 5 6. Sew (2) 3 ½” Fabric D squares and (2) 3 ½” Fabric C squares together to make (1) DC block (Fig. 6). Repeat to make (24) DC blocks total. make 24 D C C D Fig. 6 13. Sew (1) 5 ½” x 76 ½” Fabric H strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew (1) 5 ½” x 68 ½” Fabric H strip to the top and to the bottom of the quilt top. 14. Layer and quilt as desired. 15. Sew the (8) 2 ½” x WOF Fabric G strips together, end to end with 45-degree seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press. 16.
