If you are not there, we cannot evaluate you ● Tryouts will be outside (hopefully!) March 21 - 26 ○ 9:00am - 11:30am ○ Will include technical training, conditioning, scrimmaging and team building ● 26th - Saturday - Scrimmage vs. Craig ○ Final player evaluations - Team placements will be emailed out later that day - Make sure Coach Nelson has a parent AND student email Team Policies - Practice ● Each player is required to attend every practice ○ Your schoolwork should be done at school or home - Make sure you stay on top of it! ● Practices will run from 4:00pm - 6:00pm ○ Be prepared to go at 3:50 (This includes seeing Morgan and having your equipment on) ● If you are sick, communicate with your coach that you will not be at practice (DO NOT TELL SOMEONE ELSE TO TELL YOUR COACH - YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE) Team Policies - Practice Requirements ● Players need at each practice: ○ WHITE uniform/jersey/shirt ○ Any color athletic shorts ○ soccer boots ○ shin guards ○ any color soccer socks over shin guards ○ Size 5 soccer ball - We will have some at practice, but the more the better! Team Policies - All Games ● Players need: ○ Both Uniforms ○ Both Shorts ○ Both Socks (Forest Green and White) ● You can purchase these at Soccer Direct (Discount for Parker Soccer Players - Mention when at store) ○ Shin Guards ○ Water Bottle ○ Pre-Wrap or Headband - No accessories on it ● See Morgan well before the game, you Team Policies - All Games ● Players need: ○ To be at school by at least 11:30am the day of a game ○ Coaches get a list of all players ineligible to play from athletic office ○ Parent Excused does not count as excused - Need to have Doctor/Dentist Note turned into the Athletic Office ASAP Team Policies - Home Games ● The managers and coaches will bring out the equipment for the game, the players simply need to come out to the field ready to go. ○ We will have water coolers for all levels, so just a water bottle will be fine for a player ● JV Players - Be out at the field right after school, eat a snack, move around, socialize before official warmups. ● Varsity - Be at the JV game by 5:45pm. Team Policies - Away Games ● The coaches will have the equipment set up for bus loading near the back entrance to the school, everyone can help pack the bus. (Released from school early) ● Players make sure you have everything for the game - If you don’t have the equipment, you can’t play! ○ You do not need your ball for game days, we will bring team balls for all levels ● NO PHONES ON THE WAY TO THE GAME Checking the Schedule ● All matches will be listed on R-School ○ Stay up-to-date on the times and locations ○ Get email, calendar, phone, etc. alerts sent to you ● We will play the game unless there is a lightning storm situation - Downtown makes the call on whether or not the game is cancelled prior to starting Team Policies - Team Assignments/ Playing Time ● ● ● The coaches will analyze and evaluate players during the tryouts (and continuously throughout the season) ○ Players will be evaluated on the Parker Soccer Standard (based off the US Soccer Standard) Players who (repeatedly) do not do well academically, miss practice and miss games will be subject to missed playing time and removal from the team Cuts being made will be dependent on player numbers - The players will be evaluated on the following skills Sportsmanship ● Players play, coaches coach, officials officiate and parents support in a positive manner. ● The captain of the team is the ONLY player who is allowed to discuss a call/non-call with the official. All items will be delivered to Parker High School by Soccer Direct. If parents would like to come into the store and Purchase that is ok as well. All players will also receive an 10% in store discount for Soccer Accessories and 20% off of shoes. Just let us know at checkout that they are with Parker Soccer. You do this every two years, You most likely do it your Frosh and Junior year. Set it up with Morgan - She can also check if you need it.
