World Meeting Families
Philadelphia will welcome the 8th World Meeting of
Families on September 22 to September 27, 2015. The
meeting is the main reason for Pope Francis visit to the
United States. We ask for prayers this week for the
success of the event and for the families.

We are beginning a new list of the sick, homebound,
hospitalized and those in nursing homes for whom we
ask the prayers of the parish. If there is somebody to be
added please leave word in the rectory office.

Come join our parish CHOIR
Hello members of Saint Phili Neri, I hope your summer was
relaxing and filled with enjoyable memories with family and
friends. Now that we are all getting back into the “wing” of
things, I would like to extend an invitation to everyone to
come and join our church choir. Now, this does not mean you
have to possess the ability to read music or have previous
singing experience. All you need is a positive attitude, a
willingness to learn new things and be committed to attend
weekly rehearsals. English choir meets Sunday mornings at
10:30am and 12:30pm in the Sanctuary. The Spanish choir
meets Sunday mornings at 8:30 and every Thursday at 7pm in
the Sanctuary. If you have any questions please feel free to
speak to Taione Martínez, St. Philip’s Neri Music Director.

Vocation Summit
Do you love the priesthood and religious life? Would you like

guest speaker is Rhonda Gruenewald, and expert from
Houston who has literally “written the book” on how to

Pope Francis
Now that His Holiness Pope Francis has completed his visit to
the United States we continue to pray for him and his ministry
and that his presence among us may have lasting fruit. We also
continue to pray for families and that there be truly places of
shared faith, hope, charity and prayer.
Sunday Mass
We have resumed our regular Sunday 5:30 evening mass
schedule.
The Annual Columbus Day Mass
This year Columbus Day mass will be celebrated on Monday
October 12 at 9:30am. For tickets send an email to
[email protected] The Cathedral will be opened to
non ticket holders at 9:15am.
Registration
We welcome new parishioners, especially those who have
experiences the sad loss of their previous spiritual homes. We
invite not only them but also our long-time members to
register in the parish. Aside from the practical reasons
explained on the fly page of this bulletin, to register is to
indicate your intern really to be part of this community, to take
responsibility for it and for as far your own circumstances
allow into entering.
Catholic High Schools Exam
A six week preparation program to prepare 8th graders for the
Test for Admission to Catholic HS (TACHS) will be offered at
St. Catherine Academy beginning Saturday September 19. The
$325 program fee covers 18 hours of instructor, workbooks and

Regis HS is an all-scholarship Jesuit secondary school for

El domingo de la semana pasada logramos recaudar
$4612 dólares. La segunda colecta el próximo domingo
será para el mantenimiento y reparaciones de nuestra
parroquia.
María Santísima
Desde el domingo 13 de setiembre después de la santa
misa de 9am se entregara una catequesis sobre María
Santísima iniciando la campana: “Rezar el santo
rosario en familia.” San Juan Pablo II: El camino más
seguro para llegar a cristo es María.
Invitación
Todos están invitado a participar de una linda tarde
de alabanza el domingo 4 de octubre de 2:30pm5:30pm. El evento se llevara a cabo en el salón
parroquial de nuestra parroquia. Contaremos con la
participación musical de Enrique Feliz y el predicador

Clases de Ingles gratuitas
La parroquia Santa María ofrece todos los martes de
7:30pm-9:00pm clases de Ingles como segundo idioma.
¿Te gustaría formar parte del coro musical?
Estimados miembros de la comunidad de San Felipe
Neri, espero que hayan gozado de un verano lleno de
aventuras tanto con sus familiares y amigos. Ahora
que todo regresa a la normalidad, me gustaría
invitarlos a formar parte del coro de la iglesia. No hay
requerimiento alguno, es decir no se necesita tener
experiencia, solo la actitud, el deseo de cantar,
aprender y finalmente comprometerse asistir a los
ensayos. El coro de Ingles se reúne todos los domingos
a las 10:30 am y 12:30pm en el Santuario. El coro en
español se reúne los domingos a las 8:30am y los
jueves a las 7:00pm en el Santuario. Si tienen alguna

Estados Unidos, les pido continúen orando por su

Are YOU a registered parishioner of Saint Philip Neri?
That question raises two others: What is a parishioner? What does it mean to be registered?
A parishioner of a given parish is either someone who regularly attends mass in a given parish or someone who at least lives
within the territorial boundaries of the parish. Such individuals have claim upon the parish to serve them in their spiritual
needs. There are times when it is necessary or at least very helpful to ne registered, as for instance when arranging for one of
the sacraments or asking for a letter of reference. When someone is trying to prove residence for immigration purposes to be
able to include the date of parish registration can be very helpful.
A registered parishioner is someone whose name, family profile and contact information is on file with the parish.
Registered parishioners may request to receive Sunday offering envelopes which can be mailed to them. If wish to receive, a
supply of envelopes is sent every two months.
If I register, will I be badgered by too much mail or request for money?
You will not be badgered, but before Christmas and Easter we will send you the schedule of masses and confession times. You
will receive a few letters concerning the Annual Cardinal’s Appeal. If you use envelopes and contribute more than $1000
during the calendar year, in January you will receive a contribution statement for tax purposes.
How do I register?
Simple! Stop by the rectory and ask for a registration card or just use the form provided below and drop it into a collection
basket suring Sunday masses.

¿Qué significa ser miembro de la parroquia San Felipe Neri? ¿Qué significa el estar registrado?
Un feligrés es alguien que asiste regularmente a misa en una parroquia determinada o alguien que vive dentro de
los límites territoriales de la parroquia. Tales individuos tienen el derecho de recibir ayuda espiritual o pedir documentos
como por ejemplo cartas de referencia para asuntos migratorios, sacramentales o de trabajo.
Un feligrés registrado es alguien cuyo nombre, perfil familiar e información de contacto se encuentra en los
archivos de la parroquia. Aquellos miembros pueden solicitar se les envié sobres para enviar su diezmo semanal. Los sobres
serán enviados cada dos meses a partir de la fecha de registro.
¿Qué pasa después de registrarme?
Al usted registrase como miembro de la parroquia, recibirá los siguiente; antes de Navidad y Pascua, le enviaremos el
calendario de misas y confesiones. También recibirá la carta anual en relevancia a la Campaña del Cardenal. Finalmente si
utiliza sobres y sus contribuciones sobrepasan los $1000 al año, en enero usted recibirá un informe de sus contribuciones,
cual puede utilizar para su declaración de impuestos.
