ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2016 Boston, USA, March 28-April 3, 2016 VENUES Main Arena - TD Garden The TD Garden will serve as the primary arena for the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2016 and will host all competitions and some practice sessions. Originally opened in 1995, TD Garden is a luxurious, comfortable and state-of-the art venue, with a giant High Definition (HD) video screen. Home to the Boston Bruins of the NHL and Boston Celtics of the NBA, “The Garden” recently hosted the 2014 U.S. Figure Skating Championships where U.S. Figure Skating selected the 2014 Olympic Figure Skating Team that competed in Sochi, Russia. Practice Arena - Steriti Memorial Steriti Arena, located in Boston’s North End neighborhood, will serve as the official practice rink. It is located a convenient 5 minute walk from the main arena. The practice rink will be open only to accredited persons during the Championships, including chaperones. In general, skaters of the same gender from the same federation will share rooms with two beds. Extra Services, Incidentals and Damages Each person (except athletes for which the Team Leader will be responsible) will require a valid personal credit card at time of check-in to the hotel to cover incidentals as well as a security deposit. Incidental services such as external telephone, pay TV, room service, mini-bar or laundry will be blocked for all Team Members (including athletes) if a personal credit card is not presented at the hotel front desk upon check-in. Payment for incidental services is the guest’s responsibility and should be settled directly with the hotel at check-out. Each member federation is responsible for all unpaid incidentals and damages. Dining Room Location: Salon G-K located on the 4th Floor of Boston Marriott Copley Place Hotel Meal Prices: TBD. A limited number of meal and drink tickets will be available for purchase onsite only in the Organizing Committee’s Federation Service Room for accredited persons (except media), who are not entitled to complimentary meal vouchers. If meal vouchers or tickets are lost, new tickets must be purchased at the user’s own expense. Special invitations for the Closing Banquet will be issued at registration and should then be exchanged for tickets by March 30, 2016 in the Organizing Committee’s Federation Service Room. A limited number of closing banquet tickets will be available for purchase onsite only until March 30, 2016 in the Organizing Committee’s Federation Service Room by accredited team members, who are not entitled to a complimentary ticket, as well as by chaperones of the competitors. If closing banquet invitation or tickets are lost, new tickets must be purchased at the user’s own expense. CHAPERONES Chaperones (a maximum of one per skater) will not be accredited, but must purchase either an individual or an all-event ticket at full face value to enter TD Garden and see competition. Each Chaperone will receive a bus pass for the main delegation bus lines and a practice ticket to be able to attend all practices in the main arena and the practice arena. Chaperones listed on Form C 01 may pick up bus passes and practice tickets in the Organizing Committee’s Federation Service Room. Photo id will be required. Chaperones will be able to stay at the Boston Marriott Copley Place Hotel (based on room availability) or at any of the official hotels based on availability. All bus passes and practice tickets are non-replaceable and should be handled with care. REGISTRATION & ACCREDITATION All ISU Office Holders, Referees, Judges, Technical Controllers, Technical Specialists, Data and Replay Operators, Competitors, Team Leaders, Team Officials, Team Medical Staff, Coaches and Partners or Relatives to an Official must be registered and accredited at the Accreditation Room located in Salon E on the 4th floor of the Boston Marriott Copley Place Hotel. Exact operating hours to be confirmed in accordance with arrival schedule. No accreditation will be issued without presentation of a valid passport. Forgotten, lost or stolen accreditation cards must be reported and can only be replaced in the Accreditation Room for a cash fee of $150.00 USD. The ISU or organizing committee must approve replacement accreditations. TRANSPORTATION Airport Information Boston Logan International Airport is New England’s largest transportation center. Logan Airport has four passenger terminals, A, B, C and E, each with its own ticketing, baggage claim, and ground transportation facilities. The terminals are connected to the central parking garage by a walkway system. In all, there are 94 gates with contact jet bridges and nine regional jet gates at the airport and more than 40 airlines fly nonstop to more than 100 domestic and international destinations. Most of Boston Logan's international arrivals come through Terminal E for U.S. Customs and Border Patrol processing. Domestic arrivals come through Terminals A, B or C. Some international flights, including various Canadian and Caribbean flights, pre-clear U.S. Customs at their point of origin and arrive at domestic terminals A, B or C. For specific flights, please check with your airline. Representatives of the Organizing Committee will meet all people at the airport and direct them to waiting ground transportation. Such Representatives will meet passengers arriving at International Terminal E on the first floor Arrivals level of Terminal E once they have claimed their baggage and cleared customs. Passengers arriving at Terminals A, B or C will be met in the baggage claim areas for each terminal. The Organizing Committee Representative will be holding signage indicating the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2016. ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2016 Boston, USA, March 28-April 3, 2016 Airport Arrival and Departure Transportation Based on the arrival and departure information received in a timely manner from the teams, the Organizing Committee will provide transportation at arrival and departure for competitors, team leaders and judges between the Boston Logan International Airport and the Boston Marriott Copley Place Hotel. Coaches, Team Service, Medical Personnel and Chaperones will only be transported upon arrival if they travel together with the team. Transportation at the conclusion of the event for team members entitled to complimentary departure transportation to the airport will be managed by scheduled departure shuttles and times. Each entitled team member’s scheduled departure shuttle and time from the Boston Marriott Copley Place Hotel will be available no later than 1 day prior to departure in the Organizing Committee’s Federation Services Room. No changes will be allowed to each entitled team members scheduled departure shuttle and time unless approved by the Organizing Committee. Event Shuttles There will be 2 credentialed bus lines for accredited participants. The bus lines will be colorcoded and clearly marked for easy identification. The Organizing Committee will staff an event information desk in the ground floor lobby of the Boston Marriott Copley Place Hotel, with bus schedules and volunteers with the latest information on transportation and all other event information. Red Shuttle Bus Line The red shuttle buses will depart from the Boston Marriott Copley Place Hotel each day beginning 90 minutes prior to the first official practice each day. Service will be every 30 minutes. The first stop will be the TD Garden, the second stop will be the Steriti Arena before returning to the Boston Marriott Copley Place Hotel. The last bus will depart TD Garden 2 hours after the last event competition, including awards. The Red Shuttle Bus Line will depart the Boston Marriott Copley Place Hotel at approximately :00 and :30 during operating hours. Blue Shuttle Bus Line The blue shuttle buses will depart from the Boston Marriott Copley Place Hotel each day beginning 90 minutes prior to the first official practice each day. Service will be every 30 minutes. The first stop will be the Steriti Arena, the second stop will be TD Garden, before returning to the Boston Marriott Copley Place Hotel. The last bus will depart TD Garden 2 hours after the last event competition, including awards. The Blue Shuttle Bus Line will depart the Boston Marriott Copley Place Hotel at approximately :15 and :45 during operating hours. ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2016 Boston, USA, March 28-April 3, 2016 Green Shuttle Bus Line In addition to the above, the Organizing Committee will provide a media shuttle service for credentialed media running from The Colonnade Hotel to TD Garden and the Steriti Arena. The media shuttle each day will depart the from The Colonnade Hotel 60 minutes prior to the first official practice. The last bus will depart from the main arena 2 hours after the last event competition including awards. The media shuttle will run approximately 5 times throughout the day [every 4 to 5 hours] starting on March 28, 2016 and ending on April 3, 2016. Public Transportation The arenas and all of the official hotels are a few blocks of public subway stations on the “green” and/or “orange” lines of the Boston’s public transportation system – known as the “T”. ● Boston Marriott Copley Place Hotel is located approximately 0.10 miles from the T’s Prudential Station on the Green Line and approximately 0.27 miles from the T’s Back Bay Station on the Orange Line. ● The Westin Copley Place Boston Hotel is located approximately 0.10 miles from the T’s Copley Station on the Green Line. ● The Colonnade Hotel is located approximately 0.06 miles from the T’s Prudential Station on the Green Line. ● The Four Seasons Hotel Boston is located approximately 0.2 miles from the Arlington Station on the Green Line. ● The Midtown Hotel is located approximately 0.1 miles from the T’s Symphony Station on the Green Line. ● TD Garden (Main Arena) is located on top of the T’s North Station on the Green and Orange Lines.
