Our PTA is busy planning and preparing for a fun time! Please put April 8 on your calendar and join us at school for an entertaining evening! Tickets are $5 and everyone is welcome! Raffle tickets and additional information will be sent home later this month. As you may know, NDSA Testing is right around the corner. Bennett students in grades 3-5 will take state standardized tests next month. At this time, it looks like our students will begin testing the second week in April. Look for testing specifics as we get closer. Finally, we need everyone to exercise caution when dropping off and picking up their children. Please use the south loop and pull alongside the curb to pick up or drop off your child. Traffic gets congested so everyone needs to reduce their speed and be patient. Thank you for your efforts to help keep our students safe! I hope you and your child have a great month! Sincerely, Ms. Schafer Kamp KACE (Kids Against Cancer Everywhere) No school! Mrs. Belgarde, one of our fabulous 4th grade teachers, works at Kamp KACE every summer. She is happy to report that students who attend get a chance to enjoy camp and act like regular kids! Blind Joe Visits 2nd Grade! Joe Bommersbach, a Fargo North classmate of Mrs. Erica Johnson, and his wife Liann visited Bennett 2nd graders. The students had been working on the question “How do people communicate in different ways?” in their literacy lessons. They read a biography about Helen Keller, and researched people like Anne Sullivan, Alexander Graham Bell, and Louis Braille. Their background knowledge about the challenges blind people face was helpful as they thought of questions to ask “Blind Joe”. Joe spoke about how he learned as a child, technology devices that make his life easier, and why he decided to try a career in music. He also shared about being on The Voice and treated everyone to a song! Page 2 of 3 Coming Soon!!
