Our thoughts are with all the people of Christchurch during this difficult time. At the Board of Trustees first meeting for 2011 the draft strategic plan for 2011-2016 was approved. The next stage is for management to identify how we are going to achieve the key priorities/goals. The Board would like to thank those who participated in the meetings last year and gave feedback into the strategic planning process. Your input was appreciated. A copy of the plan will be sent out following the next Board meeting on the 31st March. Motueka South School celebrated their successful Book Week with a fun dress-up parade of book characters. A range of school-wide activities all week focused on learning and having fun through reading. Pictured are three MSS Junior Teachers; Mrs Sandra Hannah (aka Bob the Builder), Miss Jo Tyree (The Little Mermaid) and Maegan Copping (Willbee the Bumble Bee). Students featured are Rose, Maddison, Hannah, Jacob and Leon. At the February Board meeting Janet Kelly was elected chairperson. Over the next 4 months there will be several opportunities for the Board to attend professional development both on line and at workshops held at Motueka South School. We look forward to another positive and busy year with the ERO (Education Review Office) team due to visit the School in either Term 2 or 3. There is no doubt will be challenges ahead, but nothing that can’t be met with planning, hard-work, perseverance, integrity, communication and teamwork.
