Children Views On School Hours

• The Grove school (Independent) Year 6’s.
• The Year 6’s at Oxley Park (State) school
• How I sent out a questionnaire is, I sent it out in
my class of Y6’s and also I gave the other
questionnaire to my auntie who works at the
Grove so I asked her if she could send it out to
the Y6’s in her class.

• I researched this topic because I thought it
would be quite interesting to find children's
views on how long they would like there breaks
and holidays ect.
• Also because some children normally say
they wished they had longer holidays so I
thought I would research the topic to see what
they honestly thought.

I have concluded that people that most Year 6
pupils in both schools think that school should
be shorter and breaks and holidays should be
longer but the percentage was higher at Oxley
Park (State school) especially for a longer lunch
break. Nobody seems to want to come to school
on Saturday or Sunday. There was a lot of
support for finishing earlier on a Friday but very
mixed responses to earlier start and finish times
in summer.
