Lure Coursing events will be charged $3.50 per entry
(up from $3).
For all Obedience, Rally and Tracking exhibitors and
their dogs: Any person and/or their dogs who receives
instruction, training, or instruction through the
attendance at a seminar or clinic given by an AKC judge
is not eligible to show or compete under that judge for a
period of thirty (30) days after such instruction, training,
and/or seminar/clinic attendance.
Championship Points Computation: The point
schedule computations have been reduced from a
calculation using a 3-year averaging to a single year
calculation beginning with the 2011-2012 Schedule of
Points, and to remove all independent and designated
Specialties held by National breed Parent Clubs, as well
as the local shows held three days prior to the
AKC/Eukanuba National Championship, from the data
base used to make the calculations for the 2011-2012
Schedule of Points
Ties for placements in Obedience: In case of a tie for
a placement in any class, each dog will be tested again,

individually, by performing the entire Novice Heel Free
exercise. The original scores will not be changed. In the
case of a tie in the Beginner Novice class, the run-off
procedure will be the Novice Heel on Leash exercise as
performed in the regular Novice class. All applicable
penalties listed under the Novice Heel on Leash exercise
will apply.
Judging Advertising/Solicitation. Judges are
no longer prohibited from advertising or soliciting
assignments. This applies to all AKC events, and judges
are responsible for ensuring that all information is factual
and accurate, and that any advertising or solicitation is
not fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading.
Single Publication of New Judging Applicants.
Instead of 2 publications, a single notice will be
published that the applicant has been approved for the
provisional breeds listed and may now accept
assignments.
Four to Six Month Puppy Competition. The 4-6
Month Beginner Puppy competition may be offered by
all-breed clubs or parent specialty clubs as a special
attraction. Event Operations plans to approve two to four
all-breed events per month and any parent specialties
that choose to offer the competition. Local specialty
clubs may also be approved including FSS breeds
The Coursing Ability Test. Dogs run singularly. Open
to all dogs at least 12 months of age that are individually
registered with the AKC, recorded in the FSS program,
dogs with PAL numbers or dogs enrolled in the AKC
Canine Partners program. Females in season may not
enter. A dog may enter only once per event. (An event
is defined by an event number.) Dogs under 12” at the
withers and/or brachycephalic (“flat-faced”) dogs run
approximately 300 yards. Dogs over 12” at the withers
that are not brachycephalic dogs run approximately 600
yards. To Pass: The dog must complete the course with
enthusiasm and without interruption within a stated
maximum amount of time. Max time: 600 yards - 2
minutes; 300 yards – 1½ minutes. To earn a suffix title:
Three passes = Coursing Ability (CA); Ten passes =
Coursing Ability Advanced (CAA); Twenty five passes =
Coursing Ability Excellent (CAX).
AKC Grand Championship Ranking System: The
Grand Champion Ranking system will allow exhibits to
continue to accumulate points through the end of the
year and the Top 25 winners will be determined and
recognized by the largest number of points accumulated
by Breed. A category for the Top 10 Grand Champion
pointed dogs by breed in each state will be available as
an added accomplishment to the dog’s record. In May
2011, levels of recognition that include Bronze, Silver,
Gold and Platinum awards of achievement to exhibits

obtaining a predetermined number of points for each
level of awards will be available.

At Auroral we finished our 30th champion Auroral's
Antigone taking breeds and a group placement on her
way to her title. Her Brother Artemus needs just one
single for his title. Not to be out done their mother Ch
Auroral Rising Star Iroquois is now a Grand Champion.
Auroral's Jasmine Oronzova is pointed as a puppy but
we are waiting for some physical and mental maturity
before we get serious about her career.

Our homebred boy, DiPauls Wyatt Earp won his
second 4-point major at the Western Reserve Kennel
Club show in Cleveland, Ohio on December 19, 2010
from the open dog class under Judge Mrs Anne Savory
Bolus and also won Best Of Winners. Wyatt is out of our
CH Rising Star DiPauls Brigadoon x CH Rising Star On
The Wings Of A Dove. Just 3 single points to go until he
finishes. Grandpa Cody is proud. (CH Rising Star
Conquistador CGC).

JC, RAE, CGC, DSPP has earned her Rally Advanced
Excellent title and has also been recertified as a Delta
Society Pet Partners Service Dog (required every 2

Completely Owner Handled, I am pleased and
honored to report that my girl “Gracie” (Ch. Paradise
Spirit Amazing Grace Enchante) finished her
championship on 12/18/10 under Judge William
Cunningham. Grace finished in grand style going
WB/BW/BOS for a 4 pt. major. The next day she went
BOS as a special and got her 1st major toward GCH. I
am very proud of Grace and I thank all the Judges who
have recognized her fine qualities. My “Tory” (Paradise
Spirit Torch Song Enchante) needs his last major to
finish and is busy sharpening up his show skills.

On November 27,2010, our boy, Laureate Adrienne
Executive Decision At Mystique, aka. 'Echelon' finished
his UKC Championship, and finished #9 Borzoi for 2010
in UKC. On January 22, 2011, our Am/Can/UKC Ch.
Laureate Adr'n Mystique's Tribute, RAE,CD,CRN,
CGC,TDI, ...aka. 'Tribute' was awarded Best Veteran in
Sweepstakes at the MBC Winter Specialty in Novi, MI,
under judge Ron Mater. Tribute was awesome and very
happy to be in the show ring strutting his stuff. We will
take Echelon out to shows to hopefully to earn both AKC
& CKC championships.

Bartleby (BIF FC Silkenswift Black Lightning SC
LCM SGRCIII SORC) finished 2010 as #1 LGRA borzoi
AND #1 NOTRA borzoi. This is the first time in borzoi
history (possibly first time in all-breed history) a
competitor has held the #1 spot in both venues. He was
again the winner of the NOTRA national in Hillsbourough
TWP, NJ and also ran undefeated for the second year in
a row. Bartleby was also #2 All-Breed in both LGRA and
NOTRA.
Melockoff Borzoi / Gale Snoddy
My youngster, Tanner (CH, U-CH Melockoff's Tall,
Tan Terrific) finished his Championship with 4 majors,
the day before he turned 13 mo. old. His first was 5 pts.
at a BCOA Supported Entry at 10 mo. of age, then back
to back 3 pt. majors before his 1 yr. birthday, then a 4 pt.
major to finish. The next day, he took an Award of Merit
at the MBC Specialty under Judge Jon Steele, followed
by Select Dog the following day. He will now stay home
to grow up. Tanner also earned his UKC Championship
before he turned 9 months old.
I was also honored to be awarded the MBC
Breeder of the Year for 2010.
River Bend Borzoi / Marilyn Kivela
The River Bend Redheads have done exceptionally
well this year in a variety of venues. My girl “Ziara”, CH
River Bend Tasmania FCH CD JC SC, finished her AKC
Conformation Championship and ASFA Field
Championship along with her JC, CD & SC titles ALL in
2010, BEFORE she turned two years old. Ziara also has
17 Select Bitch points towards her Grand Champion
(including all her required Select Bitch points over bitch
specials with 4 major entries) within a month and a half
of finishing her Championship. My other girl, “Zanni”,
River Bend Zanzibar JC, is major pointed with 6 AKC
Conformation points, all from BBE, and has 4 ASFA
points. Littermate “Maya”, Ch. River Bend Mallorca
(owned by Ralph & Marylee Jenko) has 17 Select Bitch
points (including all her required SB points over bitch
specials with major entries) towards her Grand
Championship and has her first leg towards her AKC SC
title. Littermate “Rasta”, River Bend Jamaica’s Red,
(owned by Louise O’Brien) is AKC & UKC pointed.
Plans for 2011 are to finish Ziara’s AKC FCH & Grand
Championship and Zanni’s CD & AKC Conformation
Championship and maybe go to Eukanuba with at least
one River Bend Redhead.

Shari and Shefero’s Winslow competed in AKC agility
at the Ann Arbor and Oakland trials, where they won two
first placements in 24” novice standard and a second
place in 24” novice jumpers, all with scores of 100.
Winslow and the yearling Windrift Tahoe Call Me
Willoughby, are members of the Rock-N-Roll K-9 Demo

team. Shari and her 2 borzoi were in the Holiday
parades and in the performance demo at the January
Novi Michigan dog shows.

Beth, Windrift Elizabeth At Tahoe, finished her “BN”
title and also got her second major in conformation.
Beth needs 6 singles to finish her conformation
championship. Maverick and Emma, also finished their
“BN” titles. We enjoyed our vacation sightseeing in San
Diego. KC attended the BCOA board meeting. We also
got to see the new Aruzia litter, and came home with a
12 week old white male, called Clint. He is a littermate
to Ginger Jones’ red boy, Stoney.
Zanoza Borzoi / Liz A. Duncan-Burge
I am very pleased and excited as I watch my August
2010 litter grow and develop into nice young out going
borzoi. These kids were much anticipated and out of my
lovely athletic coursing duo, Kaya (Velikaya Knyazhna Iz
Kitez Grada LCM JC) and Evik (Evpator Iz Kitez Grada
FCH JC) who were imported from the Ukraine. A male
pup is in Idaho with Yvonne McGeehe / Valeska Borzoi
and another male pup is in southern Indiana with Dana
and Joel Pierson. At this time I am being greedy and
have kept the only female and three of her litterbrothers!!

Qualifications for the Midwest Borzoi Club Hall of Fame Breeder Award are as follows:

Member of the Midwest Borzoi Club, in good standing with MBC, affiliate clubs and the American Kennel Club for a
minimum of fifteen years.
Must have bred and registered with the AKC a minimum of five Borzoi litters.
Must have bred at least ten individually titled Borzoi. This area covers all AKC titles and ASFA lure coursing titles.
Must have adhered to the Midwest Borzoi Club Ethics and Guidelines.
This year’s award winner acquired her first Borzoi, Pickfair Peregrin Agridor, “Ivan”, in the fall of 1985. Our winner was lucky
enough to have her first homebred champion, CH Melockoff’s Nadyezda, come from her first litter.
Many moments in this lady’s Borzoi career have been special, but the one that stands out for her the most was when she finished
Nadyeda with back to back majors, including a specialty win!
