SHOW DESCRIPTION
Step onto the blasted heath of war-torn Scotland and witness the private deeds of three Weird Sisters, caught
between the bloody business of Macbeth’s tragedy and their own destructive sibling rivalry. In an innovative
form of storytelling, WEIRD opens up vertical space as the Witches climb, twist and move through the air,
harnessing wild elements and conjuring the haunting forces that will lead Macbeth to his end.
WEIRD is a multidisciplinary show that blends original text and storytelling with circus arts, stage combat, and
original music.
While performing as part of the 2015 Ottawa Fringe Festival, WEIRD won Best of Fest, was shortlisted for Critics’
Pick, and was Metro’s #1 Must-See Show of the festival!
The show has toured to theatres and schools across Ontario, performing in Toronto, Stratford, Ottawa, Hamilton,
Windsor, and as part of Nuit Blanche North 2015 in Huntsville in July.

SHOW REQUIREMENTS:
PERFORMANCE SPACE
•
We require a minimum of 16’ of open space between the floor and the ceiling; however, 21+’
is preferable. This includes space that is free of any trussing, lights, or ceiling fans, as we use
a free-standing aerial rig (see show photos).
•
The footprint of free space that we require on the floor for the rig is as follows:
•
For 16’ height: 14’x17’.
•
For 21’ height: 18’x21’.
LIGHTING
•
A basic warm wash and cold wash can be used if available.
•
If possible, a few extra lights with no gels can be used for lightning effects.
•
Two or three tree light stands (minimum four lights each) generally works well for a gym setting.
SOUND
• A sound system to amplify sound cues from a computer is required.
