Workshops and Make & Takes will be held in our courtyard or indoors as weather permits. They are approximately 1 hour long unless otherwise noted. Make & Take sessions have size limitations. Workshop is limited to 10 participants. 27th – Spring Bulb Workshop, 2pm, Instructor: Larissa McCarrick, FREE Learn the basics of flowers you can grow from bulbs and tubers such as dahlias, cannas, gladiolus, and lilies. Great for your summer garden! Receive a free bulb to take home and enjoy just for attending! June June is National Rose Month l Class Ful 3rd – Beach Fairy Garden Make & Take, 2pm, Instructor: Brennan Stone, Fee: $40 Brennan will guide you in creating a beach themed fairy garden! Container, plants, and accessories included! Workshop is limited to 15 participants. June 24th - National Fairy Day! September 9th – Bonsai for Beginners, 10am, Instructor: John Baylor, Fee: $25 John will guide you as you create and shape your very own bonsai tree to take home and enjoy. Includes instruction, bonsai tree, pot, and miscellaneous supplies. Approximately 2 hours long. Workshop is limited to 10 participants. Must bring your tree with you. All participants will receive a new pot for their tree. Workshop is limited to 10 participants. 16th – Climate Change Reality - Transitioning Outdoors to Indoors, 2pm, Instructor: Chuck Fry, FREE Learn how to keep your plants happy and healthy while transitioning them back inside after being outside for the summer. 23rd – Fall Bulbs with Free Bulbs Workshop, 2pm, Instructor: Larissa McCarrick, FREE Learn the basics about the bulbs you plant in the fall, to see in the spring such as tulips, daffodils, and hyacinths. One free pack of bulbs to given every participant. 30th – Halloween Fairy Garden Make & Take, 10am & 2pm, Instructor: Brennan Stone, Fee: $40 Brennan will help you create your own perfect little garden for Halloween. Select from a variety of miniature plants and accessories. Workshop is limited to 10 participants. October 7th – Indoor Cactus/Succulent Garden Workshop, 2pm, Instructor: Larissa McCarrick, Fee: $40 Plant a fun, resilient garden perfect for indoors in medium light. Container, plants, and accessories included! Workshop is limited to 10 participants. 14th – Orchids for Beginners, 2pm, Instructor: Jim Diehl, FREE to Participate OR $10 to Leave with an Orchid Jim will be sharing information on watering and sunlight, proper potting techniques, ways to deal with pests, and answering your questions about orchids. If you have a problem orchid, bring it in and get Jim’s problem-solving solution. Jim has been growing orchids since 2000. He is the former President of the Central PA Orchid Society. Workshop is limited to 15 participants. 21st – Venus Fly Traps Workshop, 2pm, Instructor: Brennan Stone, FREE Learn the basics on how to care for these odd but fun bug eating plants. November 4th – Terrific Terrariums Make & Take, 2pm, Instructor: Larissa McCarrick, Fee: $30 Larissa will instruct you in creating your own unique terrarium. Container, plants, and accessories included! Workshop is limited to 10 participants ages 10 and up. 25th – Christmas Fairy Garden Make & Take, 10am & 2pm, Instructor: Brennan Stone, Fee: $40 Brennan will help you create the perfect little garden for the holidays for use as a centerpiece or for gift-giving. December 2nd – Christmas Planter Make & Take, 2pm, Instructor: Greenhouse Staff, Fee: $50 Create a beautiful Christmas planter for use as a centerpiece during the holidays or for gift-giving.
