President’s Letter
To our Members:
I am honored to continue serving as your President for 2016.
We have many great events scheduled that I hope you will be
able to attend. The events are listed on the Calendar of Events
on pages 6 and 7.
I especially would like to thank the North Olmsted officers and Board members
who contribute to the accomplishments of our amazing chamber of commerce
and to our Executive Director, John Sobolewski who works tirelessly to improve
our opportunities for success.
A special thank you goes out to our many sponsors. We could not be successful
without your support which contributes to a year of extraordinary networking
events - Power of More business after hours, our great speakers at our lunches,
a very successful golf outing and Holiday Party among many other events. And
what other chamber of commerce organization can give away a lease on a car –
Thank you John Allensworth!
I would also like to send a special shout out for all of the planning and behind the
scenes work of Gylene Pelton and Tammy Bertrand. They set the tone for by
helping us run a successful association.
We are fortunate to have so many dedicated people to drive the success of our
chamber. On behalf of the North Olmsted of Commerce, I express heartfelt
thanks for all you do.

Member Spotlight, Cristina Bertero
Hello dear members of North Olmsted Chamber of Commerce and Power of More!
My name is Cristina Bertero and I am the owner of EmbroidMe located in North Olmsted. I joined
North Olmsted immediately after opening my business and it was one of the best decisions I
made.
I am Brazilian by birth and lived in Sao Paulo the majority of my life. I am an attorney and worked
many years in Brazil. In 1996, my husband was invited to manage a business in Memphis, TN.
That was not an easy decision but we decided to move and add to our lives an international experience. Since then, along with Fernando and our three daughters, I have been fortunate
enough to obtain, with pride, American Citizenship and have ended up in the Cleveland area,
where we have settled.
Following a long time dream, we decided to buy EmbroidMe in 2012. It has been an amazing
journey and we are very happy with our decision. EmbroidMe is a business dedicated to helping
other companies to promote themselves. We will guide our customers, counseling them on the
best way to make their business noticeable. We have around 400 locations around the world yet
we are small enough to give our customers the personal service they deserve.
Our business can be divided in three major groups: embroidery, garment printing and promotional items. With all of this we are able to find exactly what our customer needs are such as branded garments, uniforms, professional apparel (including business casual), promotional giveaways,
awards, gifts, etc.
How did EmbroidMe North Olmsted change since we became Power of More and North
Olmsted Chamber of Commerce’s members?
The connections we made with other members are invaluable, and by connections, I am not talking only business relationships, I am talking about HUMAN relationships. I met people that became good friends and I am delighted to be in their presence and honored to be part of their circle. I truly enjoy every Power of More and North Olmsted Chamber event, and I improve as a
person and a business member with each one I attend.

Ways To Get the Most Out of Your
Chamber Membership and the Power of More!
1) THE CHAMBER AS A RESOURCE.
As a member a great way of increasing visibility and credibility is by presenting seminars that
offer information relevant to other members. Also, attending events and networking with other members to share information and to see what they have to offer you. The Power of More!
offers you an extra advantage that most Chambers to not have. Use it!
2) GET INVOLVED—ATTEND AS MANY EVENTS AS POSSIBLE.
Like most services that charge a membership fee, if you don’t participate, it won’t work. There
are not a lot of people I know who join a gym and get fit without showing up. The same applies to your chamber membership. If you get involved by serving on chamber committees, it
will help you build stature in your community. As a member you can help your local chamber
enhance their benefits by offering your services.
This will only lead to more exposure for your company. Go on and flex your business acumen, why don’t you?
3) SPONSOR SPECIAL EVENTS—ADVERTISE YOUR BUSINESS
Each Chamber along with Power of More Events already has a preset list of special or major
events that we offer throughout the year. Some may include business expos, luncheons, galas, golf tournaments, Business Before Hours, and Business After Hours. These are great opportunities for you as a business owner to invest some money on an event where you can acquire many new customers. Most sponsorships include a packaged deal where you are promoted before the event on all media outlets, and it may include a vendor booth where you
can interact personally with potential customers. Picking the right events to sponsor can contribute to rapid growth for your company. Also, take advantage of advertising on our new websites and in newsletters to get your business’s name out there!
Participation is key -- attend events, sponsor events, join committees, offer your services and
get involved. Lastly consider investing in advertising to promote your business.
