The Red Deck - Magic Makers, Inc.

The Red Deck
The Red Deck is our latest in a line of new magic for the collector and magician who
wants to be unique using cards that no one else has. The Red Deck contains an additional
4 special cards including:
A Red Joker: When we released our black deck everyone asked why we did not have
a regular joker that they could use as a key card, or to put a breather
crimp into without disturbing the original 52 card pack, so this time you
have a joker that can be used for such purposes. Also with the reverse
printing in red, the 6 spade pips on the jokers sleeves stands out better
so you could force a 6 of Spades on a spectator, then produce the joker
and he will obviously tell you that you are wrong, but then you explain that
he needs to look at the sleeves of the joker and count the pips, 6 Spades.
The Blank Face Card: Everyone loved the blank face card from the black deck so we listened to you
and are giving you a blank face red card with this one. If the blank face card is on the bottom of the
pack and you do a reverse fan, the entire deck looks to have solid red faces. Turn the deck over and
show that the backs are red as well and close the deck. Remove the bottom card showing it face and
back and place it on top of the pack. Snap the fingers and do a double lift showing that a face has
printed. Turn the two cards as one back face down and snap the fingers again and then turn the deck
face up and spread to show all the cards now have faces.
Just be careful not to reveal the last or top card which is the blank face card.
Double Back Red/Black: Many have asked if we were going to bring out any double backed cards that
could be used for color changes etc. So here it is, black on one side and red on the other. Here is a little
trick that really socks them between the eyes.
Pocket to Pocket - Two Card Rocket: You will need the Red/Black double back card, The King of
Diamonds from the Red deck and the Ace of Spades from a Black deck. Place the double back card in
the pocket with the red side facing away from you. Have the two regular cards in a envelope of a wallet.
Remove the two cards and show them both explaining that they are very easy to keep track of, the red
king has a red back and the black ace has a black back. Place both into a spectators pocket explaining
that you will be doing a little test. (Place both in his pocket with the king closest to him and the ace away
from his body. Remind him the black ace is black back and the red king is red back. Reach into his
pocket and remove the ace with just the black back showing and place it in your pocket to one side. Now
ask him what he has left. He will answer the red king. Have him remove it to be sure and then have him
replace it in his pocket. Now you repeat the trick by reaching into your own pocket and bringing forth the double back card with the black
side showing and drop it into his pocket to the front. Explain that you will try this again. You now reach into his pocket and bring forth the
double back card showing the red side and place it in your own pocket. Ask him what he now has in his pocket and he will answer the black
ace, have him remove it, and it is now the red king. Reach into your pocket and bring forth the black ace and leave the double back card in
the pocket till later. This is very strong, give it a try.
The Double Index KS/KC Black Back:
This card can be used for a great little effect called the 10:30 card trick:
Place a 10 H face down on the table on top of it face up is the double index gaff spades at the top and
clubs at the bottom, then the 10 S face down and the 10 D face down on top. Do an Elmsley count
showing four red back cards, being careful not to flash the red double index, and placing the last card
underneath the rest rather than on top as in the traditional Elmsley count. Place the packet on the table
and explain about your dream that you were in a poker game and it was 10:30 and you had four kings.
Now ask them to pretend that they are in that same dream and ask them if you discarded the red or the
black kings. Whichever their answer you are forcing the black kings. If they say you discarded the red,
pretend to take the red and toss them away. If they say the black, then ask the second question, which
black king did I keep, spade or club. No matter what their answer here you can spread the cards to the right of left to reveal either the King
of spades or the King of clubs as the face up king. Now pick up the spread cards and remark that king was different then the rest because it
had a different color back, pull the card from the fan and turn it face down showing that it has a black back while the other three cards are red
back. Then you explain why this trick was called the 10:30 card trick, because the other three cards were tens, turn each face up and when
added together equals 30 making it the 10:30 card trick and the faces are red because this is the type of card game that you would only play
one place....down below...at 10:30...!
