Editorial
• Definition: A newspaper or magazine article
that gives the editor’s or publisher’s opinion
on something.
• Sentence: Sam thought that the newspaper
article was an editorial one.
Hesitation
• Definition: To stop or wait for a time.
• Sentence: The woman answered the question
without hesitation.
Incredulous
• Definition: Unbelievable.
• Sentence: Bill thought that the man did
something incredulous.
Nonchalantly
• Definition: Not showing much interest in or
effort.
• Sentence: Zeke was acting nonchalant about
the whole event.
Rebellious
• Definition: The fact of rebelling against any
authority or control.
• Sentence: the rebellious young girl disobeyed
the mother’s wishes.
Reputation
• Definition: A general opinion of someone or
something that is held by the public.
• Sentence: A single detention would ruin the
boy’s reputation.
Rivalry
• Definition: The fact of competing against
another as a rival.
• Sentence: The boy’s had a sibling rivalry.
Sarcasm
• Definition: The use of biting remarks or
expressions.
• Sentence: The teacher replied with sarcasm.
Sympathetic
• Definition: showing kindness or sympathy.
• Sentence:
Unfathomable
• Definition: Unimaginable.
• Sentence: The man came up with an
unfathomable inventions.
