Recently Leeds General Infirmary’s premature baby unit was the recipient of a large quantity of knitted items while Twiddle muffs were delivered to residents at Ebor Court, Poppleton. Yvonne Mulholland from the Ideal Care Homes Group said: “Thank you so much. This means a lot to help our residents.” We are supporting the Rotary International’s programme to eradicate polio worldwide and will be planting 5000 purple crocus around Foxwood in November. This will bring to 50,000 the number of crocus bulbs planted since 2000. If you’d like to join us in planting these, please send an e mail to [email protected] or see our Facebook page and notice-boards for details. The first houses were built in Foxwood 50 years ago and many people are keen to see that history recorded and kept alive. The first meeting will take place on THURSDAY 10th NOVEMBER AT 11am AT FOXWOOD COMMUNITY CENTRE. The group will be led by Jackie Talbot and will meet on an ad hoc basis so come along to this first meeting and find out more. Organised by Foxwood Community Centre, our stall will be a tombola and a children’s bran tub. We were surprised and delighted to receive this award and hope that it inspires others to improve the area in which they live. Getting involved with Yorkshire in Bloom is one of the best things the Residents Association has done as it brings free advice, help and fresh ideas.” Anyone wanting to get involved should come along to our gardening club - Foxgloves - see right.
