One highlight of Appomattox
attractions is the Appomattox Court
House National Historical Park
marking the site of the original village
of Appomattox Courthouse.
Here, Generals Robert E. Lee and
Ulysses S. Grant negotiated the terms
of surrender which led to the end of the
war between the states. The majority of
the buildings are original to the site, and
have been maintained just as they were
on April 9, 1865.
Come walk the same dusty roads
once walked by Robert E. Lee and
Ulysses S. Grant, experience Civil War
History at its best...come experience
Appomattox, where our nation
reunited.
