Great job! • Winthrop Middle School’s Drama Club's annual "Spring Showcase," is fast approaching. Student work includes "Signs of High School Stupidity" written and directed by Will Gillis (7th grade), "It Gets Better" written and Directed by Miya Grein (7th grade), "11:11" written and directed by Carly Zichella (8th Grade) and "Chubby Bunny," directed by Maddie Tolliver (7th Grade). The drama fest play is entitled "Dear Me..." and is written by the cast and crew of the drama club and directed by Miss Daley. Performance dates are Friday, April 7th and Saturday, April 8th at 7:00pm and Sunday, April 9th at 2:00pm. Great job! • Second graders at GFB were given the opportunity to participate in the Cool Science poster design contest in art class. Students studied the elements and principles of design, and learned about climate change and ways to help the earth. A BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Olivia Scorzella, for being one of two elementary school winners across the state for her poster design!!! Olivia’s design will be on public display throughout the Lowell (LRTA) bus system. Amazing work! • Astrophysicist and sister of 5th grade teacher Ms. Burt, Dr. Burt from MIT gave a presentation to 5th grade students aligned with their current unit on her active research and what scientists are learning about planet rotation and revolution. • The ATC school has started the March Madness reading challenge. The ATC PTO has generously donated dozens of books that have gone directly to students. • This Friday, the ATC PTO is celebrating Family Movie Night and showing the movie Trolls! • Kindergarten Registration is the first week in April!
