Nature Kids Summer Camp About Nature Kids Summer Camp Established in 1987, Nature Kids Summer Camp is located just one hour away from downtown Snow Hill. Encompassing 20 acres of beautiful, rolling countryside, the camp has everything to teach your child about nature: a lake for fishing and swimming, stables, hills and woods for hiking and exploring, 17 cabins, a dining hall, and a common room. All camp counselors are professionally trained and certified in CPR. In addition, medical staff is on the premises at all times. Outdoor Activities Campers range in age from 7 to 17, with approximately 49 percent girls and 51 percent boys. Campers are divided into age groups to better address needs and abilities for camp activities, as shown in the schedule below. Page 1 Nature Kids Summer Camp Camper Tips 1. Bring only the items necessary, as outlined below: a. Bedding and linen (sleeping bag or blanket, pillow, and linen) b. Hygiene items, such as toothbrush and toothpaste, soap, shampoo, towels, and shower shoes c. Personal items, such as portable media players, cell phones, and handheld games, are discouraged strongly 2. Meals are provided, with light snacks available upon request a. Campers will be fed at assigned mealtimes, by age and cabin b. Healthy, balanced breakfasts, lunches, and dinners (please inform us of any special diet requests/restrictions) 3. Clothing recommendations are as follows: a. Footwear i. At least one pair each of hiking boots and tennis/running shoes ii. Extra socks (at least three extra pairs recommended) iii. Plastic or waterproof shoes for shower wear b. Clothing i. Comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor activity ii. Swimwear iii. Light jacket or sweatshirts for cool evenings Camp Fees Age Group The costs of attending this camp are outlined in the table below, along with cabin assignments by age group.
